Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality team through day-to-day administration of activities that will ensure Customer Satisfaction.
  • Lead and participate in team activities to maintain and continuously improve on department's QMS/KPI's for audit conformance.
  • Support the collection, organization and distribution of non-conformance data related to customer concerns.
  • Communicate, lead and direct the activities of the Quality staff to ensure that all customer expectations are achieved satisfactorily through employee training and awareness.
  • Ensure all control plans, FMEAs, process flow diagrams, work instructions, customer quality expectations and departmental records are current, documented accurately and maintained per IATF-16949/ISO-9001 requirements.
  • Prepare training outlines for production personnel as directed by the Process Engineering Manager. Assist in the development of formalized training programs with the Operations Manager. Review training programs with the Quality Department Team and assist in the implementation of the training program.
  • Report any control plan deviations to the responsible manager. Prepare summary reports on non-conformances for Management review and corrective action.
  • Recommend solutions to non-conforming material through designated channels. Assist in the implementation and verification of the corrective action effectiveness.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to the Quality Management System in relation to IATF/ISO/Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Manage the layered process audit process for Assembly as directed by the Operations Manager. Report all non-conformance and track corrective action plans.
  • Interface with offsite Quality Liaison's to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct, as necessary, customer visits and audits to assess effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Investigate root cause analysis for quality concerns. Assist in development of corrective action plans to provide prompt resolution to customer directed concerns.
  • Assist in the identification of Quality Department training requirements.
  • Train all personnel in the details of the control plan, customer quality specifications and quality expectations as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Participate in review of customer plant and warranty return samples, including travel to OEM and corporate reviews.
  • Support New Program launches by attending and participating in launch team meetings and other events scheduled at customer locations.
  • Perform all duties of the Quality Engineer as required.
  • Flexible hours of work essential to support production and customer submission requirements.
  • Ensure that all accidents are properly reported, and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
