Summary:

A role for a journeyman software tester with deep experience in modern automated and manual testing techniques. Delivers a great deal of working software to Production and provides technical leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to multiple concurrent engineering efforts
  • Work both independently and collaboratively across teams to drive technical solutions and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Maintain strong product and customer knowledge:
    • Maintain deep knowledge of assigned features
    • Understand customer usage of assigned features
  • Design and execute tests:
    • Create strategies for feature-level testing
    • Review test strategies of other Quality Engineers
    • Lead feature testing
    • Design and execute tests, and report bugs
  • Automate tests:
    • Design automated tests
    • Participate in developing automated test strategies
    • Review other Quality Engineers’ code
    • Create, execute, and manage results of automated tests
  • Create and execute different types of tests (end-to-end, performance, API, integration, and accessibility)
  • Analyze test results to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement
  • Improve testing processes and techniques
  • Troubleshoot defects and verify their repairs
  • Estimate effort at the feature level
  • Deploy to and maintain test environments
  • Make process improvement recommendations to improve testing efficiency
  • Participate in resolving after-hours Production incidents
  • Demonstrate your project work and product contributions

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of test automation and software testing experience
  • Automate-first mindset
  • Deep troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong abilities with Cypress automated-testing tools
  • Strong abilities with testing tools for different tasks (K6, Postman, Allure)
  • Experience in a continuous-integration/continuous-delivery environment
  • Experience using monitoring/observability tools
  • Ability to work well with others and collaborate across teams
  • Excellent communication skills - writing, speaking, and listening
  • Experience with a technology stack and architecture similar to Greenlight Guru’s
  • Proficient coding in one or more modern languages
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-powered tools (e.g., coding assistants, automation platforms, data analysis tools) to enhance engineering productivity and quality

This is a remote role and will ideally be located within the Indianapolis, Chicago, Boston, OR Atlanta areas. The base salary range for this role is $100,000- $125,000.  Actual base salary is determined by factors such as, but not limited to, experience, education, skills, and geographic location.
