In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics - whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management.
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to work in the Controls Avionics Solutions Business in Endicott, NY to support our aircraft electrification projects. We supply electronic solutions to US and Foreign military customers. The Senior Quality Engineer supports programs in the value streams within the CAS Business Area. The Senior Quality Engineer will support the manufacturing floor with quality issues, react to key program metrics, participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, drive corrective actions, and foster continuous improvements.

As a Senior Quality Engineer supporting our Aircraft Electrification projects you will make impacts in the following ways;
  • Protect our Controls and Avionics department from shipping nonconforming material.
  • Participate in RCCA with Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Perform Hardware Dispositions.
  • Provide Operator Feedback.
  • Perform Inspections.
  • Part issue investigation/ Coordination with SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering).
  • Data Trending.
  • Action tracking and closure.
  • Audit support.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum of a 2 year Technical Degree, in related field and 3 or more years of work related experience to the position
  • Have knowledge of AS9100D Quality System and pertinent Quality practices.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) and be able to effectively communicate and interact with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
  • An understanding of Statistics and practical application to a manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.
  • A passion for process improvement.
  • Manufacturing experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 4 year Technical degree in related field and 5 or more years of related work experience
  • Mechanical background with an understanding of electrical components and Circuit Card Assemblies.
  • Experience with Oracle systems, FLX factory Logix, PowerBi and/or Apex is a plus.
  • Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material.
  • Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements.
  • Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $81500 - $138600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
