Position
Digi Wireless Design Services Project Managers are responsible for delivering complex product development and integration projects in collaboration with internal engineering teams and strategic external customers. This role requires broad experience in cross-functional project leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage technical programs from initiation through delivery.
Project Managers work closely with engineering leads and business stakeholders to define scope, align resources, manage risk, and deliver customer-focused solutions on time and within budget. They serve as the face of Digi to our most important OEM clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term success through technical leadership and operational excellence.

What You Will Do
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams (electrical, software, RF, mechanical, project coordination) to deliver on customer development agreements and product launches.
- Play a key role in managing strategic customer engagements, including high-visibility Annual Development Agreements (ADAs).
- Maintain ownership of project scope, schedule, and budget, including proactive communication of changes, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities and evolving technical requirements in an agile, collaborative environment.
- Serve as the primary external point of contact for assigned projects, facilitating technical and program-level dialogue with customer stakeholders.
- Drive internal and external project meetings, prepare and deliver executive-level project reviews and status reports.
- Ensure all projects meet Digi's engineering quality standards and follow documented processes (e.g., SDLC, stage-gate, and time-tracking).
- Proactively identify and resolve issues to keep projects on track and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Document and share lessons learned and drive process enhancements within the Design Services team.
- Utilize and promote effective use of project management tools including Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and financial tracking systems.

- Annual Development Agreements with strategic OEM customers spanning electrical, software, RF, and mechanical disciplines.
- Accelerated product development programs driving Digi product revenue through faster design cycles.
- BSP customization and board bring-up programs based on Digi ConnectCore SOMs; Android/Linux driver integration for medical devices.
- IoT device programs using MCU and/or XBee modules with cellular connectivity for remote monitoring applications.
Who You Are and What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8-12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8-10 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of technical project management experience (functional and technical PM skills), with demonstrated leadership of full product lifecycle development projects: tracking, planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Experience managing engineering teams and customer-facing deliverables, ideally in an embedded systems or IoT environment.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and within budget in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated experience building successful customer relationships with the largest or most strategic customers (add-on revenue, upgrades, contract continuation).
- Expertise in scope management, scheduling, and budgeting for product development projects; manages projects from cradle to grave.
- Demonstrated ability to lead business development efforts, including drafting proposals and customer interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, internally with organizational or product change and externally with customer behaviors, tools, processes, and metrics.
- Strong working knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels, including C-suite.
- Ability to manage strategic customer relationships and serve as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders.
Desired But Not Required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) strongly preferred.
- Experience with Project Management software (NetSuite SuiteProjects).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and regulated development environments (e.g., medical, aerospace/military).
- Project management experience in an internal engineering environment dealing with complex, highly technical products.
- Speaks at conferences, writes editorials or white papers, or performs external webinars; comfortable representing Digi at trade shows.
- Experience mentoring junior project managers or leading internal PM initiatives

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $95,000 – $149,000. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
