Define outcomes, measure business impact, prototype rapidly (using AI), partner across design, engineering, operations, revenue, and compliance, and use data to validate decisions and deliver scalable, compliant products.

Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.

More than half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future. Too often, it’s because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.

We’re a high-growth fintech company changing the retirement industry. We are backed by a number of investors. This includes funding from Marshall Wace and Baillie Gifford, as well as top investors such as BlackRock, TPG (The Rise Fund), SoftBank, Glynn Capital, NewView Capital, USVP, Wing, Uncork, and more.

About the role

Product management is changing. The best product managers no longer just write requirements and wait for engineering; they prototype their own ideas, pressure-test them with data, and use AI to move from problem to validated solution in days rather than quarters. We are looking for senior product managers who have internalized that shift and who want to apply it to one of the biggest unsolved problems in America: helping working people save for retirement.

You will own the product strategy for a meaningful surface area, lead a roadmap for a dedicated engineering team, and partner across Engineering, Design, Operations, Revenue, Customer Success, and Compliance to deliver accurate, timely, and transparent outcomes at scale. You will do this as an AI-augmented builder: using modern AI tooling both to sharpen how you work and to shape products that increasingly work on our customers’ behalf.

What you get to do every day

  • Own the vision and strategy for your product area end to end. Set a clear, opinionated direction, define the outcomes that matter, and rally your team and stakeholders behind a roadmap that delivers a great customer experience while achieving business goals and satisfying regulatory requirements.
  • Define and own the goals that measure success, quantify the business impact of what you ship, and rigorously track and report progress on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Produce artifacts that unblock engineering teams to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Partner with other product teams so your solutions deliver a great end-to-end platform experience, not just a strong local one.
  • Dig into the data from first principles, form a point of view, and use it to validate assumptions and drive decisions.
  • Navigate tradeoffs and negotiate timelines with internal and external stakeholders, communicating with precision in both writing and conversation.

How you work with AI

We expect our senior product managers to use AI to work smarter and solve problems faster, and to bring good judgment about where AI belongs in the product itself.

  • Prototype rapidly. Use tools such as Figma Make, Claude Code, Codex, or similar to explore, validate, and demonstrate new ideas yourself, so you can align a team on direction with a working artifact rather than a document.
  • Compress the busywork. Apply AI to speed up research synthesis, requirements drafting, data exploration, and analysis so you spend your time on judgment, strategy, and customer understanding.
  • Build AI into the product. Identify where copilots, agents, and intelligent automation genuinely improve the customer experience, and partner with engineering on what to build and how it should behave across success, failure, and edge cases.

What you bring to the role

  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, including owning a roadmap for a dedicated engineering team in a technical product area. Experience with financial or other regulated products is a strong plus.
  • AI fluency: Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI tools to build and transform how you work, not just as a chatbot. You are comfortable vibe-coding front-end and UX changes yourself, and you can point to prototypes or interfaces where AI meaningfully changed the outcome or the pace.
  • Builder mindset: High agency and high urgency. You own problems end to end, turn zero-to-one ideas into real products, and do whatever it takes to execute complex projects.
  • Technical partnership: You have partnered closely with engineers on complex systems at scale, can self-sufficiently root-cause issues, and can propose credible fixes.
  • Analytical rigor: You are data-driven and think from first principles, and you are equally excited about 100 percent accuracy and 99 percent timeliness.
  • Business acumen: You enjoy digging into how a business works, identifying how to make it better, and building product and technical solutions to do so.
  • Communication: Crisp, high-attention-to-detail written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex technical concepts clear to any audience.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
