Sr. Product Manager - Intelligence Data Platform

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Manager to build an enterprise-grade data platform to power our BI and AI intelligence solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting data collection, transformation, and access strategy across verticals at a platform level, building and deploying a next-generation data architecture, collaborating with verticals on industry-leading data and analytics and AI products, and launching 0 to 1 products that drive real revenue.

This is a very collaborative role - you will collaborate and lead cross-functional teams spanning design, marketing, engineering, architecture, QA, sales, support, and implementation to solve high-visibility problems for some of our largest customers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

This is a very visible role - BI, AI, and data products are some of our most pressing enterprise priorities, and this role will have access to our senior-most product, platform, marketing, and sales leaders.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include guiding the end-to-end data product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization, while working with vertical leaders to ensure successful product commercialization and go-to-market execution. You will be the market, customer, and product expert for data platforms within the organization, accountable for supporting bookings, revenue, retention, and margin. This entails gathering and prioritizing market requirements, maximizing portfolio ROI through the right mix of product initiatives, and working closely with the development team to deliver capabilities that meet specified requirements and objectives.

  • Develop and articulate a clear product strategy aligned with business objectives and market demands.
  • Identify opportunities to address customer problems and drive incremental business value from MVP to launch to beyond
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and innovation.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate the value of prioritized features and how they fit into a larger overall strategy.
  • Mastery of Your Product: Serve as an expert on how the data products work, including understanding data ingest, transform, load, table structures, and technical components.
  • Customer Centricity: Empathize with end-user problems across verticals and build data-driven, hypothesis-based product requirements that solve for pressing user needs while building community-model monetizable products with a broad product market fit.
  • Create and manage the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
  • Prioritize features and releases based on a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements.
  • Clearly articulate the problems that need to be solved for customers and quantify the value to be created.
  • Define and deliver the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for each strategic bet.
  • Ownership - Own the product roadmap, P&L, strategy, execution, and GTM E2E
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products on time and within budget.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and release.
  • Make data-driven decisions and continuously iterate on products to optimize performance and user satisfaction.
  • Manage capacity and demand for the team, including development, market enablement, bug resolution, and testing.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building and launching Data & analytics products, with vertical SaaS experience preferred
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with B2B or B2B2C preferred
  • Familiarity and fluency with AI/ML, data science, and database technologies, architectures, and concepts
  • Strong mix of technical and business acumen with the ability to balance business needs, customer needs, technical considerations, and profitability
  • Experience launching and monetizing products
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with time and revenue pressure and constant ambiguity
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in complex decision-making scenarios
  • Deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize work for maximum impact.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams and delivering results in dynamic environments.
  • Strategic thinker capable of analyzing market conditions, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to identify key customer problems.
  • Resourceful problem solver with creativity in finding solutions.
  • Team player who aligns with company/portfolio strategies and executes initiatives that benefit the overall organization.
  • Comfortable with both the art (user empathy, design) and science (analytics, statistics) of product management.
  • Experience in nimble product delivery organizations with close collaboration between product, design, and engineering.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and provide guidance and mentorship to Product Owner direct reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
