The Sr Principal Product Engineer leads PCB product requirements, collaborates with R&D, tests prototypes, and creates release collateral while engaging with customers and users.

Key responsibilities
- This specific position will be with the PCB Product Engineering group, whose primary role within the business unit is to define product requirements then work closely with R&D through the development and release cycles.
- As a technical expert, Product Engineers make decisions on roadmap content and priority, use models for new features and creation of release roll-out material such as product presentations and demo kits.
- They are the first to test and verify early prototypes and provide critical feedback on use model and intended behavior.
- Collaboration skills are essential for this position as you are expected to work closely with Product Marketing, Technical Field Operations and key customers.
- Must have a strong PCB Design background using Allegro PCB Editor and Constraint Manager; experience with PCB automation such as Specctra autorouter a major plus.
- History of solving complex routing challenges associated with advanced PCB technologies such as developing interconnect strategies associated with DDR4/5 constraints, HDI routing using staggered/stacked microvias, BGA breakout strategy, route compensation and diff pair phase tuning techniques.
- Will drive product requirement specifications using data gathered from technical experts, customers and peers.
- Ability to prioritize and make informed decisions during Engineering review meetings.
- Responsible for the generation of release collateral as it relates to new features. (release notes, presentations, demo kits, best practice user guides)
- Creation and delivery of major release training material to field personal in a class room environment. (presentation and hands-on workshop)
- Participation in User Group events and PCB related trade shows.
- Position may require 10-15% domestic and some international travel as necessary.
Qualifications
- BSEE/ET or equivalent industry experience as described in this posting.
- 10+ years of experience in the PCB Design/EDA industry.
- Considered to be a “Power User” of Allegro PCB Editor with focus on advanced routing solutions
- Knowledge of Flex, Rigid-Flex PCB basics
- Excellent presentation and customer interaction skills; you must be a people person to succeed in this position!
