Role
Working as part of a global team to work on a Data Lake (made up of Hadoop and GreenPlum). The candidate will work with Platform / Development and Customer teams to deliver advice and provide application development skills in order to ensure the success of various projects on the Data Lake.
Requirements
· Experience with Big Data : Hadoop (HortonWorks distribution)/ HDFS / MapReduce / NoSQL
· A good understanding of how YARN runs jobs and the ability to advise on How / Where and When to process data.
· Experience with PIG / SPARK / HIVE / HBASE
· Must have a full understanding of the SDLC and experience with Maven / SVN / and build tools e.g. Jenkins / Archiva.
· A working understanding of Linux is necessary, we use the Bash shell.
· Proven experience of working at enterprise level, and a demonstrable understanding of what that means.
· Experience with Greenplum or similar MPP.
· An understanding of Agile methodology, specifically SCRUM.
· Should be able to provide examples of innovation
