Position Summary
At CVS Health, we are transforming healthcare through data-informed insights, evidence generation, and innovative care delivery models. The Senior Manager, Research Communications and Knowledge Translation will lead the translation of research findings into clear, accurate, accessible, and visually compelling communications for internal and external audiences.


This role operates at a strategic, enterprise level and works directly with the Executive Director of Clinical Evidence Development (CED) in the Data Strategy and Clinical Intelligence Office. Clinical Evidence Development (CED) provides enterprise-wide strategy, consulting, governance, and oversight for clinical and scientific research and associated deliverables, including scientific consultation, methodological review, publication governance, and external dissemination support to deliver cross-enterprise evidence-generation, thought leadership, and go-to-market efforts. This role will partner with researchers, clinicians, analytics teams, business leaders, and communications colleagues to develop and execute communication strategies across peer-reviewed publications, white papers, evidence briefs, presentations, executive materials, digital content, and other research deliverables. 


The role will establish consistent approaches for research storytelling, visual design, knowledge translation, and multichannel dissemination while helping develop and maintain a research-specific website and digital presence. The successful candidate will preserve scientific accuracy and appropriate interpretation while making complex evidence understandable and actionable for priority audiences. 


Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:


Lead knowledge-translation and communication strategy for the CED research portfolio, including audience identification, message development, channel selection, and dissemination planning. 


Develop, edit, and package research deliverables, including evidence briefs, white papers, executive summaries, presentations, posters, visual abstracts, infographics, and publication-support materials. 


Execute graphic design and data-visualization to create consistent, accessible, and brand-aligned research communications.


Lead development, content governance, and ongoing maintenance of a research-specific website and broader digital presence in partnership with Communications, Digital, Brand, Legal, Privacy, and technology stakeholders. 


Establish templates, editorial standards, content workflows, quality-control processes, content calendars, and performance measures for research communications and dissemination. 


Manage concurrent projects, timelines, stakeholder reviews, risks, documentation, and additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or manager. 

 
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in science communication, health communication, public health, life sciences, journalism, communications, graphic design, digital media, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years related work experience
  • Progressive experience translating complex clinical, scientific, public health, or healthcare research for executive, professional, and general audiences. 
  • Demonstrated experience developing scientific and evidence-based communications across multiple formats, including reports, briefs,

presentations, web content, and publication-support materials. 

  • Advanced writing, editing, and message-development skills, with the ability to maintain scientific accuracy, appropriately qualify findings, and avoid overstatement. 
  • Demonstrated graphic design and information-design capability using PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Canva, or comparable tools. 
  • Experience coordinating website content development, publishing workflows, content maintenance, accessibility, and digital governance with technical and communications partners. 
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive deliverables, structured reviews, and competing stakeholder feedback across a matrixed enterprise. 
  • Strong collaboration, consultation, project management, attention to detail, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance. 
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor or manager. 

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in science communication, public health, health services research, communications, design, or a related field. 
  • 8-10 years related work experience
  • Experience in a payer, provider, life sciences, healthcare technology, academic, or research organization. 
  • Experience with real-world evidence, health economics and outcomes research, epidemiology, or health services research communications. 
  • Portfolio demonstrating scientific storytelling, visual abstracts, infographics, executive communications, and web or digital content. 
  • Knowledge of digital accessibility, plain-language principles, content management systems, search optimization, and digital performance analytics. 
  • Experience partnering with Brand, Corporate Communications, Legal, Privacy, and external agencies or vendors. 
  • Demonstrated record of authorship on peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, whitepapers, or other scientific communications utilizing real-world data.

Education
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$90,480.00 - $199,144.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
