General Job Duties:

Specific Job Duties
- Maintain and present materials and logistics related KOI's to management (inventory turns, on-time delivery, premium freight, etc).
- Manage and standardize all scheduling, receiving, picking, and delivery of component materials in the departments to ensure a common approach is employed to their functions and responsibilities.
- Ensure the MRP system is integrated properly into the Division materials process and obtain a high confidence level of data accuracy.
- Root cause inventory discrepancies and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Integrate the EDI releases from our customer down to the accurate scheduling of our Tier II suppliers.
- Review Bill of Materials to insure MRP reflects actual process, therefore providing correct inventory consumption levels.
- Manage transportation logistics for incoming and outbound freight for items not F.O.B. Division to minimize costs and ensure on-time delivery.
- Effectively manage the receipt of in-coming purchased items for prompt inventory recognition and control in predetermined multi-location storage.
- Work with the manufacturing departments to provide standardized JIT component delivery process to all areas.
- Lead the team in continuous improvement opportunities to minimize inventory and supply chain costs through lean initiatives.
- Manage the efforts to facilitate the Tier 2 suppliers in becoming EDI capable and compliant. Planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
- Directing, optimizing and coordinating full order cycle
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers
- Planning logistics operations for receiving and sending out shipments, including managing transportation of goods
- Arranging for shipping services and establishing relationships with any other companies that will be involved with your company's deliveries
- Coordinating with the production department to ensure that needed inventory is ready to be shipped out on a timely basis
- Manage component obsolescence from ordering to tracking claims.
- Support the implementation of EB2 system.
- Track inventory containment and return to supplier all non-conforming products. Ensure that all returned product value is credited back to Division or replaced.
- Support supplier lean initiatives.
- Mentor supply chain coordinators in all aspects of leadership development, knowledge of materials system, and lean approach.
- Oversees EDI Coordination
- Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
- Perform other duties as required.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study.
Required Work Experience
- Minimum five years materials and logistics management experience in an automotive environment.
- Experience in the development and implementation of MRP systems required.
- Demonstrate strong Organizational Skills.
- Must be results oriented with ability to drive change.
- Must have computer expertise in the Windows environment and QAD.
