DESCRIPTION:
Join our Talent Development team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to our organization's future. As Senior Manager of Talent Development (Management & Leadership Development), you'll play a key role in designing, delivering, and scaling leadership development experiences that strengthen manager and leader effectiveness across Thermo Fisher Scientific. Working closely with business and functional leaders, you'll support the development of leaders and contribute to building a high-performance culture based on our 4i values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
Your role will be essential in managing talent development programs, focusing on building critical leadership capabilities—from new manager through mid-level leader—by creating high-impact learning experiences that drive behavior change and support business performance. You'll partner closely with HR, business leaders, and talent stakeholders to translate enterprise leadership priorities into practical, scalable development solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Development Design
- Design and develop leadership development programs and experiences focused on core manager and leader capabilities
- Apply adult learning principles to create engaging, relevant, and scalable development experiences
- Ensure alignment with the broader Manager & Leadership Development strategy and frameworks
Facilitation & Experience Delivery
- Facilitate leadership programs, workshops, and cohort-based experiences for managers and leaders at various levels
- Deliver highly engaging learning experiences that promote reflection, skill-building, and real-world application
- Reinforce learning through follow-up sessions, toolkits, and on-the-job application strategies
- Serve as a credible facilitator and advisor to leaders
Program Management
- Lead end-to-end program management for leadership development initiatives, including planning, execution, communication, and evaluation
- Manage multiple programs simultaneously, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong participant experience
- Partner with vendors and external facilitators as needed to deliver specialized content
Stakeholder Partnership & Consultation
- Partner with HRBPs, Talent Management, and business leaders to identify leadership capability gaps and development needs
- Build strong relationships to ensure alignment between leadership development offerings and business priorities
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track success metrics (e.g. participant feedback, behavior change indicators, talent outcomes)
- Use data and insights to continuously improve program design and delivery
- Contribute to the evolution of leadership development offerings based on emerging needs and trends
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development
• Strong expertise in learning and development and/or organizational development
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing leadership development programs
• Strong project and program management with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with budget oversight
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
• Experience managing vendor relationships and learning technologies
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Track record of building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
