About Spyce, Wonder Create and Wonder AI

At Wonder, we are reimagining the future of food by building the world’s most advanced, tech-enabled dining platform. Our ecosystem is powered by three important engines: Spyce, our robotics and automation division that engineers high-throughput "Infinite Kitchen" cooking hardware; Wonder Create, our AI-powered launchpad that allows chefs and creators to design and deploy new restaurant concepts across our kitchen network in minutes; and Wonder AI, the intelligence layer that drives everything from predictive menu engineering and kitchen workflow orchestration to personalized dining experiences. Together, we are blending culinary excellence with breakthrough robotics and artificial intelligence to make fine-dining quality and variety accessible anywhere.

About The Opportunity

This is a highly visible role that requires a unique blend of "roll-up-your-sleeves" accounting and strategic financial planning. As Spyce, Wonder Create and Wonder AI integrate with Wonder Inc., you will serve as the anchor for all foundational accounting operations, building out the accounting geography and defining processes in partnership with the accounting team. Simultaneously, you will act as the trusted financial advisor to Spyce, Wonder Create and AI’s LT, using advanced cost accounting and financial analysis to translate manufacturing and COGS realities into clear margin, profitability, and strategic insights.

The Impact You Will Make

Strategic Business Partnering & FP&A:

  • Leadership Support: Act as the primary financial co-pilot to the Spyce, Wonder Create and AI’s Leadership Team, guiding strategic decisions with data-backed financial modeling and scenario analysis.

  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the Annual Plan and rolling forecast cycles for the Spyce, Wonder Create and AI, aligning financial targets with operational milestones.

  • Month-End Close & Reporting: Manage the end-to-end monthly financial close. Prepare and present monthly reporting, distilling complex actuals into actionable narratives for non-financial leaders.

  • Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Planning: Evaluate and track ROI for major capital investments in R&D, manufacturing equipment, and new technology rollouts.

Cost Accounting & Margin Analysis:

  • Manufacturing Finance: Establish the cost accounting processes for our robotics manufacturing, including Bill of Materials (BOM) management, labor costing, and overhead allocation.

  • Profitability Tracking: Analyze product costs from the manufacturing floor through deployment, providing the LT with clear visibility into gross margins and unit economics.

  • Variance Analysis: Monitor production yields, scrap rates, and purchase price variances (PPV), working closely with the supply chain and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Financial Management:

  • System & Process Integration: Setup foundational processes and accounting hierarchy for Spyce, Wonder Create and AI, ensuring data integrity and seamless reporting in partnership with the accounting team.

  • Account Geography & Architecture: Design the chart of accounts and cost center hierarchy to accurately reflect Spyce, Wonder Create and AI’s operational structure to enable day-to-day manufacturing inventory and workflows management.

  • Process Engineering: Build and document robust financial operations from scratch, establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany transactions.

  • Support Controllership: Serve as the primary reference point for all Spyce, Wonder Create and AI to establish the right governance, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 8 to 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing and cost accounting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. (CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred).

  • Based in the Boston, MA area (preferred), with the ability to work closely with the local engineering and manufacturing teams.

  • Deep understanding of cost accounting principles (standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation).

  • Proven experience navigating and implementing complex ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up.

  • Clear and proactive communication, guide, and influence senior engineering and operational leaders.

  • Exceptional ability to translate dense accounting/manufacturing data into clear business narratives.

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.

Massachusetts: $149,000 - $157,000 per year.
