Job responsibilities
- Define and own the platform and deployment architecture roadmap across Onboarding, Servicing, and Case Management for on-prem GKP and private cloud (multi-cluster, multi-region).
- Establish and enforce engineering standards for CI/CD, environments, configuration, networking, and runtime (GB Standard), covering Kubernetes (on-prem and cloud), service mesh, gateways, and secrets/cert management.
- Lead reliability engineering across hybrid estates: SLOs, error budgets, incident management, MTTR reduction, resilience and DR (site-level failover and recovery).
- Design and operate scalable environments across on-prem Kubernetes, EKS/ECS, AWS, and gateway layers; champion blue/green, canary, and parallel prod deployments for zero-downtime releases.
- Govern release classification and controls (major/minor/patch/hotfix), versioned APIs, schema evolution, and backward compatibility to minimize cross-domain breakage.
- Accelerate delivery with automated SDLC pipelines (Spinnaker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and policy-as-code; standardize environment templates and deployment modules.
- Drive observability across on-prem and private cloud: end-to-end tracing, logs, metrics, and real-user monitoring; standardize dashboards and alerting (e.g., Dynatrace).
- Lead performance engineering for high concurrency (4k+ concurrent, 15k+ total users): halving load times, optimizing CRUD/API latency (e.g., 7s → <600ms), and tuning gateway/auth.
- Advance security posture: certificate hygiene, vulnerability management, secrets management, token/header patterns, zero-trust segmentation, and data residency/compliance alignment.
- Manage capacity and cost efficiency: throughput scaling, cluster optimization, storage migrations (e.g., S3 and on-prem object storage), rightsizing, and resource governance.
- Introduce AI-driven automation (MITA, agentic operations) for release orchestration, lifecycle management, proactive issue detection, and auto-remediation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience in platform/infrastructure engineering, SRE, or architecture, senior leadership (Director or equivalent).
- Deep experience with on-prem platforms and private cloud modernization: Kubernetes/OpenShift/EKS-Anywhere, virtualization/HCI, storage, networking, and hybrid connectivity.
- Strong background with cloud-native platforms (AWS), Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, service gateways, and container orchestration.
- Proven track record implementing CI/CD at scale, release governance, and environment standardization across hybrid estates.
- Reliability and performance expertise: SLOs/SLA design, MTTR reduction, perf/load testing, DR/failover across sites.
- Security and compliance familiarity: identity and access, certificate management, vulnerability lifecycle, audit readiness, data residency.
- Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code and pipelines (Terraform; Spinnaker/Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Kafka/MSK, API gateway/auth patterns, service mesh, and distributed tracing.
- Observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace), synthetic and real-user monitoring; log/metric/trace consolidation.
- Experience with large-scale migrations, schema evolution, dual-write/read strategies, and cross-domain compatibility.
- AI/automation in SDLC and operations (agentic workflows, policy automation, autonomous release orchestration).
- Financial services or similarly regulated environments.
