As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking CAMP Technology team, you will take on a leadership role by offering technical coaching and advisory support to multiple technical teams. Job responsibilities
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Make decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
- Executes solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Works in an Agile development environment with team members, including Product Owners
- Develops secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations
- Ensures quality and completeness of the product through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus and actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the end-to-end development life cycle
- Influence peers and project decision makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience managing software engineering teams to deliver high-quality, production-grade solutions
- Experience guiding teams to accomplish objectives aligned with strategic initiatives
- 7+ years of demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java, REST services, Spring and Spring Boot
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS especially Terraform, EKS, ECS, and Lambda
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra)
- Collaborate with various stakeholders and independently tackle design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operation stability
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with strong customer focus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience recruiting, mentoring, and rewarding top talent
- Strong Python experience, especially in the context of developing Agentic and Data solutions for large financial platforms
- Experience with Agentic technologies (esp. LangChain), including design and implementation of production-grade solutions
- Experience using Snowflake, Databricks or a similar PaaS offering
- Familiarity with Graph databases
