Location/Division Specific Information

This is a Band 8 global role ideally based in the central/east coast region of the US.

How will you make an impact?

The Sr Manager, Sales Training will be a part of the Pharma Services Group Sales Training team in the Commercial Operations Group.   This individual will share responsibilities for the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of training programs that support the PSG Commercial Sales Teams and leads management of the APAC sales training program.

     

 Responsibilities to include but not restricted to:

  • Globally support design, execution, and management of the sales training program supporting the existing sales force and new hires.
  • Instructional design and delivery of synchronous and a-synchronous training courses inclusive of virtual-instructor led, on-line, and/or instructor-led courses and programs.
  • Continually reviewing processes, identifying, and implementing actions to improve overall training productivity. 

The role will require some field travel (globally) up to 10% to deliver training to the PSG commercial sales team.

What will you do?   

People Management Responsibilities

  • Management of the APAC Sales Training Manager - maintaining and aligning common practices and processes   with training design/delivery and providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.

Course Design, Development and Delivery

  • Responsible for the design, execution, and management of the PSG Global Learning Lounge Program (virtual instructor-led sessions delivered to the PSG Commercial Teams) and PSG Battlecards (reference guides providing messaging for PSG’s core service lines)
  • Supports the development and execution of the annual Global Commercial Meeting (GCM), special projects, and other commercial sales meetings as needed.
  • Collaborates with multiple and diverse subject matter experts (SMEs) - marketing, technical SMEs etc.) to assess field training needs and to translate complex technical topics into effective training programs.
  • Manages multiple programs in parallel demonstrating exceptional project management skills, ensuring timelines are met and effective training programs are delivered.
  • Conceptualizes and leverages a blended learning approach (e-learning, classroom facilitation, field training etc.) to maximize learning effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking - considers the long-term implications of training decisions, aligns and prioritizes programs to business goals, fosters a culture of continuous learning and builds a sustainable foundation to optimize efficiency and scale training programs.
  • Designs and implements training program assessments and tools to measure competency and performance. (e.g., on-line assessments, certification etc.)
  • Measure the effectiveness of all training programs through attendance reports, participant evaluations, and sales leadership feedback to ensure the highest quality and effectiveness of the training programs.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.

Evaluation and Maintenance of Training Programs

  • Report on the effectiveness of training programs and implement changes as required.
  • Under the direction or guidance of the Director of Sales Training, evaluate programs and make decisions regarding development and implementation of specific curricula.
  • Support the application and management of applicable training platforms (e.g. Brainshark, Survey Monkey)
  • Maintain applicable training records and ensure all records are current and maintained accurately.
  • Partner and work collaboratively with HR, Marketing, and Regulatory to ensure training materials and practices adhere to corporate guidelines and policies.

Strong Skills with Tools and Learning Resources 

  • Leverages tools and technology to design, deploy and determine the effectiveness of training programs. 
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (ppt, word, excel, Outlook and Teams). 
  • Working knowledge or experience with LMS systems and reinforcement platforms (e.g. Brainshark, Seismic)
  • Strong PowerPoint and graphic design skills

Collaboration and Communication

  • Works cross-functionally and in close partnership within the Sales Training Team and across PSG (sales/sales leadership, marketing, sales operations etc.) to design, deliver, review, refresh and seamlessly incorporate key training initiatives into the overarching training curriculum(s).

Project Management and Business Processes

  • Implements exceptional project management skills ensuring that the entire design and delivery process from defining business outcomes/learning objectives to deployment is monitored, completed, and evaluated according to the goals of the training initiative, desired business outcomes, and identified learning objectives.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Develop expertise in using existing and learning of new technology solutions to drive PSG Business strategy.

Education

  • BA or BS and a minimum of 8+ years related experience and/or sales training experience

Qualifications and Experience

Must be a leader and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • 8+ years’ sales experience in diagnostic, healthcare and/or medical device sales training and curriculum design.
  • Passion for learning and continuous improvement
  • Strong knowledge and experience with instructional design and application of adult learning principles, blended learning approaches and evaluation methods.
  • Strong track record of achievement in the following areas: market/industry knowledge, clinical expertise, selling skills, sales results, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated success in working within a team setting and leading the development and completion of programs that align to business initiatives.
  • Excels at building rapport and working cross-functionally, multi-tasking, organization, and time management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, organizational skills, project management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate highly technical information to a diverse audience across a multi-level organization.
  • Strategic thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (i.e., Brainshark, Proprofs, Docebo etc.)
  • Experience with Sales Enablement Platforms (i.e., Seismic, Allego etc.)
  • Strong experience in graphics design, PowerPoint and MS Office (i.e., SharePoint, Excel, Word, OneNote).

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.
