We are looking for a talented, self-directed, product manager to join the Education Cloud team who is passionate about working closely with customers to deliver market driven solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on an early stage, next generation education product, focused in Student Information System capabilities, which is comprehensive, flexible, scalable, and addresses the technology needs of multiple segments of customers. You are expected to bring in a stellar product sense, and a proven track record in outstanding product strategy and delivery. You’ll also prioritize kindness in your collaboration, and be excellent at bringing a team together to rally around a common goal. You’ll create, share, and drive strategic vision and execution for critical products that are loved by their users. Your role will include development of market driven requirements and product capabilities that solve our customer's toughest problems, synchronizing customer needs and interests with roadmap and delivery schedules, and representing the product to internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Manager/Director of Product will work closely with stakeholders to help develop the roadmap, feature set and functional requirements for the development teams, and communicating that information to interested parties. This position is available to applicants located anywhere within the United States and may be performed either remotely or from a Salesforce office location.
Position Summary
The Senior Manager/Director of Product will be required to be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about leading the development, execution and strategy for effective, scalable, end-to-end business solutions. This includes gathering requirements, writing and prioritizing user stories and acceptance criteria, managing product development, UAT, internal engagement, and customer outreach.
Our product managers work cross-functionally with every team within Salesforce; from diving into the market to develop extensive market subject matter expertise, to sitting in on customer calls with the sales team, and working on user story mapping with user experience and engineering. This position will report to the Senior Director of Product Management for Education Cloud and will be a key member of an amazing international team.
Responsibilities
Below is a partial representation of what may be included in a typical week:
- Own the product vision for your area, ensuring that it aligns with overall Education Cloud vision, working closely with stakeholders and full PM team.
- Be an expert on the domain, use cases, international market, and trends, especially as it relates to SIS capabilities. Evangelize the vision constantly so all stakeholders are aligned, have context and understand where we are going.
- Bring the customer's voice into the creation process. Own requirements, specifications, and release plans. Define and manage the customer beta process.
- Work closely with UX to develop, test, and deliver assets to engineering. Work with the engineering team to deliver a world-class product driven by customers, prospects, advisory teams and internal product experts. Drive the end to end feature delivery cycle.
- Manage and expand relationships between product and engineering teams within both the Education Cloud, and other Industry Cloud teams, to deliver drive world-ready products and internationally applicable features.
- Embrace a culture that measures and rewards customer adoption and success. Define what success means for each feature and each function before it even goes to development. Develop ways to constantly define and monitor success.
- Coordinate product release communications for your components. Define engineering priorities and work closely with the scrum team throughout the release. Collaborate with product marketing to promote your products both internally and externally to ensure a cohesive message.
- Deliver incredible demos driven by customer stories. Provide technical enablement to internal and partner stakeholders that break down complex topics into digestible pieces.
- Represent Salesforce as a domain and product expert at customer interactions, industry and corporate events and online in customer community and through social networking.
- Build and deliver a roadmap that excites customers and colleagues alike by building a well defined backlog.
Role Requirements
- Leadership DNA – proven ability to set a vision, excite, and lead a cross-functional engineering team
- 6+ years of experience in a product management role for the Sr. PM level, or equivalent experience in the Education industry. Director level will require more experience both as a PM and within the industry
- Experience presenting to executives and handling sensitive customer situations
- Experience in agile methodologies and working with scrum teams
- Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming customer needs into an actionable product vision and requirement definitions
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, working with an international team
- Strong analytical skills and foundational understanding of computer science
- Ability to lead and work autonomously
- Strong collaborator and team player - building a world class product is a team sport
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of the Salesforce.com platform; experience with Education Cloud a plus
- Demonstrated experience with Student Information System capabilities
- Passion for technology and its opportunity to better enable educational institutions. Flexible and adaptive
- Bachelor’s degree in technical disciplines is the minimum. MBA is a plus
- Occasional travel, both international and domestic, may be required

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $184,000 to $306,600.For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $167,300 to $278,600.For Maryland based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $184,000 to $306,600.For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $184,000 to $334,600.For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $167,300 to $278,600.For Massachusetts based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $167,300 to $278,600.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
