Position Title: Senior Manager, Global Business Continuity
Location: Dallas, Ashburn, or Boston
Your role
Digital Realty is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Business Continuity, to support the development and
management of the company’s enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) program. This role will play a critical part in strengthening the organization’s operational resilience by ensuring that key business functions can continue during disruptions and recover quickly following incidents.
The Senior Manager will lead program development, governance, and operational execution of the business continuity framework while partnering with stakeholders across Security, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, HR, and regional leadership teams. This position will also help align continuity capabilities with crisis management processes and IT disaster recovery programs to support a comprehensive resilience strategy.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative program leader who excels at driving enterprise continuity initiatives and building maturity across cross functional, matrixed global teams.
What you’ll do
-Manage and enhance the enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, including
governance frameworks, policies, and operational standards.
-Support the development and execution of a multi-year BCM maturity roadmap aligned with enterprise risk priorities and regulatory expectations.
-Maintain program documentation, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency across business
units and regions.
-Track program metrics and performance indicators to measure organizational resilience and program
effectiveness.
-Lead enterprise Business Impact Analysis (BIA) processes to identify critical business functions,
dependencies, and recovery requirements.
-Partner with business units to define recovery time objectives (RTOs), recovery point objectives (RPOs),
and continuity priorities.
-Conduct risk assessments to identify operational vulnerabilities and inform resilience planning.
Oversee development and maintenance of business continuity plans across global business units.
-Partner with Enterprise teams—such as Technology and Cyber Security—to ensure business continuity
plans align with IT disaster recovery capabilities.
-Support integration of continuity planning into broader operational resilience and enterprise risk
management initiatives.
-Support enterprise crisis management preparedness and response by coordinating continuity planning
with enterprise and executive response teams.
-Assist in managing operational disruptions by facilitating coordination across impacted teams and
supporting recovery efforts.
-Ensure lessons learned from incidents are documented and incorporated into program improvements.
-Design and coordinate business continuity exercises, simulations, and tabletop exercises across the
organization.
-Evaluate exercise outcomes and develop corrective action plans to improve preparedness.
-Ensure testing activities validate continuity plans and support continuous improvement of resilience
capabilities.
-Develop and deliver business continuity training and awareness programs to strengthen organizational
preparedness.
-Partner with internal stakeholders across Security, IT, Legal, HR, Finance, and Operations to embed
continuity practices into business operations.
-Serve as a subject matter expert for regional and functional teams implementing continuity plans.
-Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track BCM program maturity, exercise outcomes, and resilience performance.
-Provide regular updates to leadership on program status, emerging risks, and resilience initiatives.
-Support internal and external audits related to business continuity and operational resilience.
-Maintain relationships with industry peers, resilience partners, and relevant organizations to support program development and situational awareness.
-Monitor evolving regulatory and industry standards impacting operational resilience and continuity programs.
-Support alignment with industry frameworks and best practices including DORA, GDPR, ISO, NIS2, and SOC 2.
What you’ll need
5–7 years of experience in Business Continuity, operational resilience, crisis management, or enterprise risk management.
· Demonstrated experience managing or supporting enterprise continuity programs across multiple business units.
· Experience leading business impact analyses, continuity planning initiatives, and readiness exercises.
· Experience working in complex global organizations with cross-functional stakeholders.
· Strong program management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics to senior leadership.
· Bachelor’s degree
Nice to Have Certifications
· Functional understanding of IT, OT, Cyber infrastructure and disaster recovery concepts.
· The following certifications are considered beneficial but are not required:
o Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) – DRI International
o Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) – DRI International
o Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) – IAEM
o ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
o Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
o Project Management Professional (PMP)
