DIRECTV is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Senior Lead of Product Marketing to lead the transformation of our business processes and drive the execution of our marketing and product integrated operating plan. This critical role will be responsible for optimizing our resource allocation, managing our marketing capital budget, ensuring our product and marketing roadmap maintains a competitive edge in the long term, and creating and implementing actionable strategies to profitably retain the DIRECTV customer base (with a focus on our OTT products). The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with a proven track record of driving business process improvement, developing and executing strategic plans, and managing complex budgets.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Business Process Transformation: Lead and manage a team of product marketing and strategy professionals, providing strategic guidance and mentorship. Lead the identification, design, and implementation of key business process improvements across the organization, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and alignment with our strategic objectives. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to map current processes, identify pain points, and develop innovative solutions.
- Integrated Operating Plan Management: Oversee the development, execution, and monitoring of the integrated marketing and product operating plan, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy and financial goals. This includes facilitating the planning process, tracking progress against key metrics, and making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
- Marketing Capital Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing capital budget, ensuring resources are allocated strategically to maximize ROI and support our long-term growth objectives. This involves working closely with marketing and finance leadership to prioritize investments, track spending, and report on performance. Leverage strong financial analysis and modeling skills to develop and prioritize potential investments (to hit the voluntary churn target). Design testing schema, execute and manage tests, and readout on results – leveraging A/B testing to ensure we’re optimizing our retention budget (second largest P&L budget in DIRECTV).
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Collaborate with product and marketing leadership to develop and maintain a long-term product and marketing roadmap that anticipates market trends, addresses competitive challenges, and ensures our continued success. This requires a deep understanding of the market landscape, customer needs, and emerging technologies. Work with execution teams (Operations, IT, Engineering) to ensure strategies are implemented effectively.
- Performance Measurement & Reporting: Own one of the most important KPIs at the company – voluntary churn. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of our marketing and product initiatives. Develop regular reports and presentations to communicate performance to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including product, marketing, sales, finance, and technology teams. Effectively communicate investment opportunities to key stakeholders, including C-suite leadership, to achieve alignment and approval on new strategies.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in product marketing or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position, and 5 years in a supervisory role.
