The Product Analyst supports testing and development of outage analysis tools, coordinating user acceptance testing and various project management activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Flexible Work Arrangement: RemoteThe (Sr./Lead) Product Analyst role reports to the Manager of the Outage Analysis Technologies (OAT) department which provides development and support around several key tools used across the activities of the Outage Analysis Technologies (OAT) Department, for OAT's sister Transmission Operations (TOD) and Generation departments within the Operations Planning subdivision, and/or for OAT's customers across PJM and its member companies. In support of these tools, this position will provide, directly and via oversight, manual and automated testing support for existing functionalities as well as ongoing enhancements to software tools to ensure that deliverables are of high quality and made in a timely manner.The Product Analyst role can vary across the following OAT tools, however their primary focus will be around testing support with respect to the eDART/Dart tool:

- eDART/Dart – outage management tool covering the lifecycle, maintenance and management of equipment as it is introduced into the PJM model up until it exits the PJM model;
- Emergency Procedures (EP) – conveys PJM emergency procedures (manual M-13) to PJM members and impacted parties;
- Transient Stability Analysis (TSA) – determines stability issues and mitigation strategies in Real-time and study spaces;
- Intelligent Event Processor (IEP) – provides situational awareness to PJM operators and engineers using a Boolean logic translation of M-03B operating procedures;
- Keystone - a custom application developed in support of the PJM study process and within our Taramisu portfolio;
- Rosetta – a mapping translation tool across PJM planning, operations and market models;
- Smartlogs – operator event logging and shift turnover tool;
- Synchrophasors – sub-second time-synchronized telemetry system event analysis and event determination, such as oscillations;
- Taramisu – PJM operations use of the PowerGEM TARA tool for automated studies;
- TO Connection – container application housing tools specific to PJM operations and Transmission Owners, such as Post-Contingency Local Load Relief Warning (PCLLRW) and Stability Limits;
- Topology Control – drives switching solutions to mitigate transmission constraints.
- Create data and documentation to support test cases and scenarios; and coordinate others in same
- Determine test environment and test data requirements
- Execute test scripts; manually or via test automation tools
- Analyze reported issues and coordinate resolution of issues including response to internal/external customers
- Suggest improvements to both technology and business functionality of software
- Deliver high-quality work within established timeline and ensure effective communication
- Review requirements and design documents to confirm technical and business needs are met
- Develop and maintain design documents used in the application development process
- Build and develop relationships with OAT’s developers, customers and functional area subject matter experts, up to and including periodic rotational on-call support
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
- 0-5 years of experience user acceptance testing in development collaboration tools such as Confluence/Jira
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Experience using verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
- Experience testing software including creating test plans/cases
- Ability to visualize and translate complex processes into test cases and scenarios
Preferred
- MBA degree
- Experience with , Agile methodology, writing SQL queries, performance testing, testing JAVA/XML based applications
- Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
- Experience supporting any of PJM Committees
