About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Financial Accountant to support the Investment Banking and Capital Markets Group Controller team. This role requires technical knowledge, oversight, and accounting support for various highly complex trading desks within the Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities (FICC) line of business. In addition, this role will have accounting support responsibilities for the institutional Broker-Dealer of the consolidated organization, Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, as well as other various consolidated subsidiaries of the Company. The team is in process of increasing its technical accounting depth and bandwidth associated with significant growth in corporate initiatives. This role will be instrumental in the success of those initiatives.

$191,000.00 - $305,000.00

In this role, you will:
- Perform as a subject matter expert supporting large complex functional areas related to financial accounting, reporting and analytics
- Work with management to establish companywide strategic plans and objectives, directing and controlling accounting, internal controls and reporting functions or activities
- Lead implementation of complex projects or initiatives impacting one or more lines of business
- Recommend compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Act as subject matter expert or final authority in specified accounting disciplines
- Provide technical interpretation on various matters and a key change agent in building or adopting best practices within the functional area
- Interact with leadership to provide support and drives strategic initiatives for the business
- Make decisions that will have a significant direct impact on line of businesses
- Provide strategic consultation to more experienced leadership throughout the enterprise
- Interact with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
- Serve as a trusted advisor for managers, consultants companywide or virtual teams in accomplishing goals
- 7+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience performing technical accounting research and analysis including GAAP / SEC / REG
- Lead, organize, and manage multiple concurrent projects from the beginning through the end that will require coordinated efforts with multiple functions (i.e. Legal, Operations, Front-Office, Finance, Corporate Accounting, etc.)
- Knowledge of and understanding of the financial services industry, including traded products, loans, derivatives, repurchase contracts, securities lending transactions
- Ability to compile and review financial statements including the monthly, quarterly, and annual data sets used in various legal entities
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, as well as other analytical or automation tools (i.e. Alteryx, Axiom, Power BI, Tableau, Tachyon, and MS 365 CoPilot).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills with a history of success within a large matrixed organization
- Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities and/or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired.
