What You'll Do:
- Design and build the agent harness — skill loading, tool invocation, context management, the execution sandbox, compaction patterns and sub-agents.
- Stand up the evaluation pipeline: how we measure skill effectiveness, catch regressions, and turn production failures into fixed behaviors.
- Partner with product and engineering to ship the first 3–5 supplier-facing use cases (invoicing, catalog, strategic views) on top of the platform you build.
- Define and maintain the cloud deployment and configuration for the platform. How it gets to production, how it scales, and how it stays secure.
- Make architectural calls on runtime isolation, credential handling, audit logging, and tenant separation, in collaboration with DevOps specialists.
- Raise the bar for the rest of the team on how to build with agentic tooling, what to automate, what to verify, and what to leave to humans.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- 6+ years of experience shipping production software with strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
- Deep engineering expertise across CI/CD, APIs, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating containerized services in production, with a strong understanding of networking, infrastructure, secrets management, and least-privilege IAM.
- Experience building platform or infrastructure tooling that other engineers rely on, such as CLIs, runtimes, or internal developer platforms.
- Proven experience delivering at least one LLM-powered product to production, with a strong understanding of what makes AI products successful in the real world.
- Extensive experience using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar, with a clear point of view on how to use them effectively.
- A passion for building beyond work, demonstrated through meaningful side projects or personal products—particularly those accelerated by modern AI tooling.
- Strong systems thinking, with the ability to balance model performance, latency, reliability, cost, and user experience when designing solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, as the team collaborates and documents extensively in English.
