Senior Integration Engineer (Workato) Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Integration Engineer with 7+ years of enterprise integration experience and 5+ years of hands-on expertise in Workato to design, develop, and support scalable integration and automation solutions across cloud and on-premise applications. This role will be responsible for building enterprise-grade integrations, API connectivity, workflow automation, and data orchestration solutions that enable seamless business operations. The position is fully remote and requires availability during US business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain integrations using Workato.
• Build scalable workflows, recipes, and automation solutions across enterprise platforms.
• Integrate SaaS, cloud, and on-premise applications using REST APIs, SOAP services, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
• Develop data mapping, transformation, and synchronization processes across multiple business systems.
• Automate business workflows, approvals, notifications, and operational processes.
• Implement secure integration solutions using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, API Keys, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Establish logging, alerting, exception handling, and operational support mechanisms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and product teams to deliver integration solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical reviews, release planning, and production deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to integration best practices, standards, and governance.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise application integration, middleware, or systems integration.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing integrations using Workato.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Webhooks, JSON, XML, and data transformation.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle, or similar business applications.
• Solid understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and SSO.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience with integration monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices, and release management processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workato Certification(s).
• Experience with additional iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo, or Informatica.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud integration services.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise integration ecosystems.
• Prior experience working with distributed teams and global stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

The goal is to establish a single source of truth through seamless two-way synchronization between the real estate and construction management platform (Lucernex) and the execution tool (Smartsheet). 

The opportunity is for a Senior Workato Integration Engineer to deliver the automation backbone of Project Windmill via Workato. The work is to design and deploy Workato recipes for real-time, two-way synchronization connecting Lucernex ↔ Smartsheet, mapping complex project fields, milestone dates, and status triggers with robust error and exception handling. Also required is to connect event triggers to automated alerts and project updates across systems. 

Requirements

- Strong, proven experience building and managing Workato recipes and custom API connections in an enterprise environment.

- Prior experience integrating Lucernex (Lx) and/or Smartsheet is a plus.

- Solid understanding of two-way synchronization challenges, including conflict resolution, loop prevention, rate limits, and error handling.

- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 56,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 196,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
