CNO Financial Group is hiring a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst to coordinate the accounting, reporting and financial statement preparation for assigned business entities within CNO Financial Group.

As a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing periodic STAT and GAAP financial statements for assigned entities.

  • Preparing journal entities, elimination entries and reconciliations with support that provides adequate audit evidence.

  • Providing documentation and analysis that supports the financial statements.

  • Identifying and resolving potential issues.

  • Explaining significant fluctuations between actual results for the current and prior periods and plan for assigned entities.

  • Creating complex calculations and analysis critical to preparation of GAAP and STAT financial statements using advanced accounting concepts and technology with minimal guidance.

  • Preparing statutory and GAAP disclosures required in the regulatory filings including statutory NAIC filings and SEC 10-Q / 10-Ks.

  • Leading assigned projects for the team requiring collaboration with other team members and various levels within Finance, IT and others. 

  • Communicating and presenting information to various levels within the organization.

  • Contributing to the maintenance of a strong internal control environment meeting SOX objectives.

  • Assisting in the documentation and compliance with the Company's regulatory requirements.

  • Assisting the Director of Accounting Policy with accounting research.

  • Providing assistance with documenting the Company's accounting policies.

The Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Are able to identify and resolve complex accounting problems.

  • Can work independently as well as with a team.

  • Are able to analyze problems and implement solutions.

  • Demonstrate experience analyzing large data sets.

  • Are detail-oriented.

  • Possess a strong understanding of accounting principles.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • Five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.

What will set you apart:

  • Masters Degree in Accounting or MBA.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Experience in the insurance industry.

  • Experience using Workiva.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.  

All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically.  Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Compensation

Pay Range: $79,400.00 - $119,200.00 Annual
