The Senior Engagement Leader, Virtual Advice (SEL) is an experienced professional who provides leadership, strategy development and execution of engagement offerings, relationship development, and support to Virtual Advice Advisors through coaching, training, and business development efforts.
The SEL brings Thrivent’s Community Impact programs and resources to life in growth hub markets and throughout the entire Virtual Advice channel. By working with Virtual Advice advisors, Virtual Advice leaders, COE partners, and TAG Engagement Teams, they bring Thrivent’s financial clarity and generosity resources into action in local communities.
The SEL demonstrates proficiency at providing training, consultation, and resources to new, experienced, and transitioning (Path to Field) Virtual Advice advisors, resulting in deepening relationships with existing clients, increasing the utilization of membership benefits, and leveraging client experience offerings. They build engagement strategies both in partnership with local engagement teams and uniquely for the Virtual Advice channel.
They build partnerships with community organizations, churches, and local non-profit and business networks to strengthen Christian communities and grow awareness and connection to Thrivent. They are proficient with the systems, processes, and playbooks for the execution of the Engagement Leader role, supporting a consistent and reliable advisor experience.
The SEL exhibits best practices in all areas of the Engagement Leader role so they can be a leader and role model, coaching others in the role. They are recognized as a strong leader and partner by their aligned sales channel colleagues, demonstrated through appropriate integration into the business functions of the market such as leadership meetings, market meetings and community partnerships. They demonstrate willingness to take on stretch assignments to contribute to the matrix work within Growth and Generosity, Distribution and other prioritized Enterprise initiatives or partners.

         

          

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

This role entails strategic execution of three main areas 

  • Drive Impact 

  • Increase awareness of Membership programs with clients and communities. Partner with advisors to help them raise awareness of Thrivent with their clients and communities by leveraging Membership programs. 

  • Develop and activate strategic partnerships with organizations in the region(s), including churches, non-profits, and business networks to build opportunities for engagement. 

  • Align impact strategies with growth strategies of the field by partnering with field leaders to develop and deliver integrated strategic plans tailored to growth markets and individual practice growth priorities 

  • Develop centers of influence relationships in communities to grow awareness of Thrivent and opportunities to join the movement.  

  • Deliver Value to Clients 

  • Build engagement plans which help Thrivent clients connect with the activities of the Thrivent Member Network 

  • Leverage Membership programs to build client engagement strategies to deepen client engagement and growth. 

  • Activate members to become advocates of Thrivent. 

  • Grow Sales   

  • Build engagement strategies in partnership with field leaders with input from Thrivent Member Network board to grow prospective members who are more aware of Thrivent and connect them to membership with Thrivent through the Thrivent Member Network and Membership programs. 

  • Invest Membership resources in ways that grow and engage Thrivent membership. 

  • Create and execute strategic plan for Thrivent Member Network resulting in growth of membership.  

  • Integrate Thrivent enterprise growth priorities into engagement strategies for example, new program rollout, sharing career opportunities, promoting enterprise resources such as Thrivent Charitable, Money Canvas, Thrivent Bank, etc. 

 

 This role may interact with:

  • Field Leaders 

  • Advisor Group Operations Leaders 

  • Experienced advisors 

  • Marketing leaders  

  • Membership leaders 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:   

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience 

  • 5-7 years in an engagement role or related experience 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Experience and comfort with presenting, and facilitating meetings 

  • Exceptional planning/organizing skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and CRM tools (Salesforce) 

  • Ability to travel up to 50% and ability to flex- schedule to work evenings and weekends occasionally 

  • Remote, hybrid work with in-person meetings  

  • Must have proper home office environment to conduct remote work.  This includes suitable high speed internet to conduct the business of the role. 

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry 

  • Experience collaborating in a matrix organization 

  • Knowledge of small business strategy and marketing 

  • Enthusiasm for building relationships and networking

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $85,613.00 - $115,830.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
