What You Will Achieve
The EHS Specialist - Industrial Hygiene will be part of a dynamic team of experts in Environment, Health & Safety. Due to the importance of this team for Pfizer's colleagues and patients, the organization relies heavily on its team members' timely actions and efficiency.
You will be engaged in various Industrial Hygiene activities such as air monitoring methods, sample handling, data analysis, ventilation, radiation, use of air monitoring equipment and report writing. This position participates in sampling strategies and program monitoring for all industrial hygiene standards, systems, and work processes.
As an EHS Specialist focusing on Industrial Hygiene, your focus on the job will contribute to achieving project tasks and goals. Through your domain knowledge and commitment, you will create a collaborative team environment for your colleagues and contractors. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Environmental, Health, & Safety.
How You Will Achieve It
  • Assist in the development of site's industrial hygiene program with the area/department owners' participation in assuring they comply with OSHA regulations and Pfizer standards.
  • Conducts industrial hygiene assessments of new products, processes, capital investments and assist to identify and implement controls to assure colleagues' protection.
  • Develop hands-on practical trainings to increase the knowledge of industrial hygiene.
  • Implements tools that assess occupational exposures using strategies that align with the AIHA Exposure Assessment Strategy (or equivalent).
  • Participates in the implementation of industrial hygiene control and system improvements across the site.
  • Conducts investigations of working conditions for the prevention of occupational disease and industrial health hazards, with specific reference to toxic substances, noise, and harmful physical agents.
  • Develop and implement technical sampling strategies measuring airborne concentrations of dust, gases, and mists; uses air sampling instruments and collection devices collecting samples of materials to detect and evaluate employee exposure including providing solutions and determining the effectiveness of engineering and administrative controls
  • Supports Colleague Wellness on occupational exposures and medical surveillance activities.
  • Conducts ergonomic assessments, provides improvement recommendations, and leverages the EHS management system to track recommendations.
  • Provides industrial hygiene expertise to the emergency response team.

Qualifications
Must-Have
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience or associate's degree with 6+ years of experience or BA/BS with 2+ years of experience or MBA/MS with any years of relevant
    experience
  • Experience working in a Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with identifying implementing and testing effectiveness of appropriate control technologies for potent compound manufacturing and handling.
  • Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project Management, Power Point and TEAMS).
  • Proven experience of working in the field with area owners to identify and implement the best solutions.
  • Experience in conducting incident investigations.

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in Project Management and Lean Concepts.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to stand or walk for periods of 8 hours or more
  • Sit extended period
  • Must be able to pass a medical exam for use of a respirator
  • Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities and can perform exceptionally under high stress conditions.
  • Able to meet deadlines, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work on teams

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $82,700.00 to $137,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
