Position Summary:

  • The Director of Sales Analytics, Category Management and Space planning will oversee the retail analytics, category management and space planning functions at e.l.f. Beauty, with responsibility for leveraging retailer sales data, consumer trends and market insights to drive growth, productivity and operational efficiencies
  • Spearhead the merchandise assortment planning process, producing “best in class” in-store planograms across multiple retailer environments
  • Lead a team of sales analysts, category and space planners, supporting a broad variety of store environments and models in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, across a unique mix of Mass and Specialty retailers including Target, Walmart, Ulta, Drug, Grocery and Dollar
  • Drive and develop data-driven insights and planning strategies to deliver consistent, category-leading growth leveraging e.l.f.’s unique productivity model to support
  • Support the retailer reset process by working with internal and external teams to execute with excellence
  • Develop and maintain regular reporting dashboards and visualization tools to track key performance metrics across all retailers to drive improved decision-making across the organization
  • Foster a high-performance team culture resulting in top employee engagement scores and retention

Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust merchandising, pricing, and shelving plans for all North American channels, leveraging consumer insights, POS sales data, micro and macro industry reports to inform assortment decisions
  • Manage the Space Planning team with planogram creation for all e.l.f. beauty customers using JDA Blue Yonder software
  • Responsible for assortment optimization, planogram creation/validation, macro/micro space analytics, modular maintenance, compliance audits, test-and-learn strategies across all retailers
  • Present strategies and plans to retailer merchant and buying teams, helping to identify opportunities for potential expansion and improved in-store presence
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams in Demand Planning, Visual Merchandising, Product Marketing and Innovation, helping to develop accurate sales plans and new item forecasts
  • Create and manage a suite of “best in class” sales reports and dashboards, leveraging sales and inventory data to summarize key performance indicators, delivering “insights to action” across the organization
  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies, tracking productivity metrics to monitor progress in between transitions
  • Partner with the Visual Merchandising team on fixture needs, capacity planning and seasonal reset execution 

Requirements:

  • 15+ years in a Sales Planning and / or analytics role
  • Experience leading a space planning organization, developing planograms across leading retailers, ideally within beauty
  • Performance and results-based mindset and approach with track record of delivering outstanding results across multiple retail environments
  • Deep retail analytics and sales strategy experience, combined with a positive attitude and the ability to operate at e.l.f. speed and across multiple retailers and channel environments
  • Mass / CPG background, ideally experience working with large retailers such as Target, Walmart and Drug
  • Skilled communicator who demonstrates the ability to analyze complex data and turn into digestible, understandable insights and learnings
  • Specialty beauty experience a bonus.

The base salary range for this role is listed above. 
 
Total compensation includes base salary, annual company-based performance bonus, and equity. Under e.l.f.’s annual bonus program, employees are eligible to earn up to 200% of their target bonus when company performance exceeds defined goals. In addition, e.l.f. provides a variety of other benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The amount of total compensation (including base salary) offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including geographic location, experience, specific skills, and qualifications.
