Summary

The Senior Director of Product Marketing sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Marketing, driving clarity in what we build, how we position it, and how we win.

You will connect market insight to product direction and bring new ideas to life. This is a player-coach role: hands-on with positioning, pricing, and launch strategy, while leading and developing a high-performing team of product marketers who each own a product line and act as embedded strategists within the Product org.

At Deel, Product Marketing partners with Product from the very beginning—shaping roadmaps through customer and competitive insight, commercializing launches across global markets, and driving growth post-launch. Global in scope, data-informed, and customer-obsessed, you’ll bring the voice of the market to every decision and ensure Deel’s innovation turns into market momentum.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the voice of the market in product development, ensuring roadmap decisions are informed by customer needs, competitor moves, and industry shifts.

  • Build a systematic insights function: buyer research, win/loss, partner feedback, analyst relations, and market sizing.

  • Collaborate with Product to prioritize roadmap based on growth opportunities and competitive differentiation.

  • Own global positioning, messaging, and value propositions across all Deel products and partner offerings.

  • Drive pricing and packaging strategy in partnership with Product and Revenue teams.

  • Segment markets and buyers, identifying where Deel should double down and where to pull back.

  • Lead GTM strategy for new launches and cross-product solutions.

  • Build frameworks for tiered launches and ensure tight integration with demand gen, regional marketing, and sales.

  • Partner with RevOps to ensure launch and adoption metrics are tracked and tied to revenue outcomes.

  • Create world-class enablement programs for sales, SDRs, and partners that go beyond product training to include market context, competitive intelligence, and objection handling.

  • Drive thought leadership content, customer stories, and use cases that elevate Deel’s category leadership.

  • Build and scale a Product Marketing org that mirrors a Product org: PMMs owning specific lines of business, accountable for both roadmap influence and GTM success.

  • Mentor a global team of product marketers, fostering cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

  • Represent Product Marketing at the exec table as a strategic voice in overall company direction.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS, with at least 5 years leading product marketing or go-to-market strategy in a high-growth, multi-product environment.

  • You understand how product decisions are made (experience within a product org is a plus), how roadmaps are prioritized, and have influenced product strategy through customer, competitive, and market insight.

  • Exceptional product storyteller with strong analytical instincts. Able to translate product strategy, customer insight, and competitive data into narratives that inspire customers and align teams.

  • Well versed in pricing, packaging, segmentation, and sales enablement for complex SaaS products.

  • Known for your collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of building alignment across Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.

  • Thrive in operating in a fast-paced, distributed organization with global teams and audiences.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
