PPD®, our Clinical Research portfolio, is a leading global contract research organization (CRO). We provide comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory, and lifecycle management services. Our customers include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, academic and government organizations.
 

How you will make an impact:

Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, we are seeking a Sr. Director, HR for divisional oversight of our Patient Advisory Services Division (PASD).

In this role, you will provide forward-thinking strategic partnership to the PASD executives, translating business priorities into an impactful people strategy to drives business growth. To achieve this, you will collaborate with global business leaders to turn strategy into action, building organizational capabilities, providing innovative HR solutions and advancing our goals of hiring, developing, and retaining outstanding talent.

This HR Leader will have a team of business partners who support other leaders; developing and mentoring the HR business partners will be a critical part of the role.

This role will be an office-based position in Raleigh, North Carolina or Waltham, Massachusetts.

What you will contribute:

Talent Mindset

Collaborate to develop effective HR strategy and talent management plans that align with business goals and advance culture change to attract, retain, develop, and engage diverse, hardworking talent.

Business Acumen and Data Insight

Draw upon HR analytics to encourage the continuous improvement of talent and business capabilities and influence positive culture change. Build a robust understanding of industry, market, and functional trends, crafting business-specific talent strategies driven by data insights.

Consultation

Facilitates organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture. Acts as a catalyst for change; guides and directs organizational design, development and change management solutions.

Change Leadership

Motivate change by leading organizational design, development, and culture initiatives built upon our 4i values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement). Support the Clinical Research business and HR integration activities.

Organizational Adaptability and Resolve

Establish a solid organizational network that promotes a "One HR Team" approach in which activities are core, common, and consistent.

Project/Process Management

Coordinate HR resources and priorities and successfully implement initiatives. Assess work requests from across the organization and balance priorities.

How you will get here:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous HR experience in a global environment that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years’ experience).
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Senior HR Business Partner supporting executives.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing organizational design initiatives, business and change programs and processes that yield positive results.
  • Experience building and leading teams in a fast-paced, heavily matrixed, and diverse environment.
  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of contemporary practices in the administration of HR policies.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Consultation skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels.
  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and act with emotional intelligence.
  • Skilled in developing professional relationships with leadership, direct reports, and peers and ability to influence effectively.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% of time
