What we do:
Halcyon is the industry’s first dedicated, adaptive security platform that combines multiple proprietary advanced prevention engines along with AI models focused specifically on stopping ransomware.

Who we are:
Halcyon was formed in 2021 by a team of cyber industry veterans after battling the scourge of ransomware (and advanced threats) for years at some of the largest global security vendors. Comprised of leaders from Cylance (now Blackberry), Accuvant (now Optiv), Fireye and ISS X-Force (now IBM), Halcyon is focused on building products and solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.

As a remote-native, completely distributed global team, we recognize great talent can exist anywhere. We invite you to apply to a job you’re interested in and we'll work a plan to meet your needs.

The Role
Halcyon is seeking a Senior Director, Solution Engineering to drive pre-sales technical leadership and strategic enablement for our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), Partner Ecosystem and Halcyon Services businesses. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role that blends strategic vision with hands-on leadership across partner enablement, technical validation, and solution delivery.

This role will act as a key interface between Halcyon and a broad range of service-oriented partners—including MSSPs, resale partners, incident response providers, and legal advisory firms—helping them integrate, deploy, and scale Halcyon’s cyber resilience platform within their offerings. You'll collaborate across Sales, Product, and Customer Success to ensure partners are equipped to deliver meaningful outcomes that grow Halcyon’s Services-aligned revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical strategist for Halcyon’s MSSP and Services businesses, aligning partner capabilities with Halcyon platform strengths.
  • Support pre-sales efforts for MSSPs, legal firms, incident response providers, and recovery consultancies adopting Halcyon software and services.
  • Lead demonstrations and proofs of value to prospective clients to ensure successful adoption and integration.
  • Define and lead partner onboarding frameworks, technical enablement playbooks, and repeatable service blueprints to accelerate time-to-value.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to drive MSSP channel growth and assist in structuring high-value service offerings.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to inform the roadmap with MSSP-focused feedback and integration requirements.
  • Support Halcyon’s own Services business by enabling internal teams and subcontractors with repeatable technical delivery methods.
  • Represent Halcyon at industry events and partner briefings as a thought leader in ransomware defense and managed detection & response.
  • Stay current on threat actor behavior, service provider trends, and detection methodologies relevant to Halcyon’s ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in cybersecurity roles, including at least 3 years in technical pre-sales, partner enablement, or service provider-facing capacities.
  • Proven experience supporting or enabling MSSPs, incident response firms, and/or legal advisory teams in cyber recovery or detection contexts.
  • Deep understanding of the ransomware lifecycle, endpoint protection, incident response workflows, and managed detection strategies.
  • Exceptional presentation and advisory skills; able to engage both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical capabilities to revenue and service outcomes.
  • Familiarity with API integration, data pipelines, and solution architecture a plus (but not hands-on required).
  • Ability to travel up to 40% across North America for key partner and customer engagements.

Compensation
Base Salary Range: $200,000–$240,000 plus bonus and equity.

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.

We understand it takes a diverse team of highly intelligent, passionate, curious, and creative people to develop the exceptional product we are building. Our dynamic team has incredible perspectives to share, just as we know you do, and we take great pride in being an equal opportunity employer.
