About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic communications leader to serve as Senior Director, Executive & Employee Communications. This role will unify executive and employee communications under one leader, ensuring consistent, impactful storytelling that connects CrowdStrike’s mission, strategy, and leadership voice to our growing global workforce.

Reporting to the Global Head of Communications, this leader will be responsible for building, scaling, and maturing the function as CrowdStrike continues its hyperscale path, driving both strategic planning and hands-on execution. The Senior Director will partner closely with C-level executives, HR, and cross-functional leaders to elevate executive visibility, deepen employee engagement, and ensure communications are a force multiplier for company performance.

This is a high-impact role for a proven communications professional who can operate confidently at the executive and boardroom level, while also rolling up their sleeves to deliver exceptional narratives, speeches and change communications. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor, a skilled coach, and a disciplined operator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of executive and employee communications across CrowdStrike, ensuring consistency and alignment with corporate priorities.

  • Partner with C-level executives to develop compelling communications that inspire and engage employees, while reinforcing CrowdStrike’s mission, values, and strategic direction.

  • Drive the design and delivery of company-wide communications, including global town halls, all-hands meetings, organizational announcements, and change management initiatives.

  • Develop and implement executive visibility programs to amplify leadership voices internally, partnering with PR and external comms teams where appropriate.

  • Provide direct communications support for senior leaders beyond the CEO and President, while ensuring alignment with overall executive communications strategy.

  • Collaborate with HR leadership to communicate key people initiatives, programs, and organizational priorities, ensuring clarity, transparency, and consistency.

  • Partner closely with the CCO and Global Head of Communications on narrative delivery, translating strategic messaging into executive and employee programs that scale.

  • Manage and mentor a team of directors and managers, building discipline, capabilities, and best practices across executive and employee communications.

  • Design and scale repeatable executive and employee communications programs that can grow with the company, establishing operating models, best practices, and standards.

  • Establish metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of executive and employee communications, driving continuous improvement.

  • Operate as a hands-on contributor, writing, editing, and producing high-stakes content, including speeches, leadership messages, videos, and presentations.

What You’ll Need:

  • 15+ years of communications experience, including leadership roles in executive and employee communications within fast-paced, global organizations.

  • Proven success advising and supporting senior executives, with exceptional keynote, speechwriting, messaging, and storytelling skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and optimize employee and executive communications in a high-growth company, driving alignment and engagement across global teams.

  • Strong experience in change management communications, with the ability to translate complex business priorities into clear, motivating narratives.

  • Executive and boardroom presence with the judgment, discretion, and influence to operate as a trusted partner to senior leadership.

  • Hands-on writing and execution skills, capable of delivering polished communications for high-stakes internal moments.

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

  • Deep understanding of how to effectively manage executive and employee audiences, tailoring communications to resonate across different stakeholders.

  • Cybersecurity or enterprise technology experience is highly preferred; candidates must bring industry fluency and the ability to communicate with technical and business audiences alike.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
