OpenX is seeking a strategic, commercially driven Senior Director, DSP Partnerships & Growth (Americas) to lead the regional DSP partnerships organization and accelerate revenue growth across established and emerging buying platforms.
As the programmatic ecosystem evolves, OpenX is redefining how supply-side and demand-side platforms collaborate to drive performance, efficiency, and innovation. This leader will play a critical role in strengthening our position with leading DSPs, expanding demand diversification, and translating emerging market opportunities into sustainable commercial growth.
This is more than a traditional partnership management role. We're looking for a commercial builder and strategic operator who can independently lead a high-performing team, establish executive-level relationships, identify new growth opportunities, and turn complex technical capabilities into differentiated business value.
Reporting to the Global Head of DSP, this leader will drive the commercial growth and execution of OpenX's US DSP partnerships, translating strategic priorities into measurable revenue outcomes while collaborating closely with DSP Operations, Product, and cross-functional commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnerships & Revenue Growth
- Own commercial performance and revenue growth across OpenX's DSP partnership portfolio, with clear accountability for growth targets, strategic initiatives, and partnership outcomes.
- Develop and execute differentiated partnership strategies across enterprise, growth, and emerging DSP accounts, prioritizing resources based on revenue potential and strategic value.
- Build and deepen senior-level relationships with leading DSPs, positioning OpenX as a preferred and strategic supply partner.
- Establish joint business plans with priority partners, focused on growing share of wallet, unlocking incremental advertiser demand, and accelerating adoption of OpenX solutions.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations, strategic business reviews, and executive engagement with key partners.
- Proactively identify growth opportunities through analysis of DSP spending trends, advertiser behavior, competitive dynamics, and marketplace performance.
- Demand Growth & Diversification
- Execute DSP-focused demand diversification initiatives aligned with OpenX's broader demand strategy, expanding revenue opportunities beyond the largest established buying platforms.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with emerging DSPs and buying platforms, building a qualified pipeline of new commercial opportunities.
- Develop strategies to expand demand across CTV, mobile app, display, video, and emerging advertising environments.
- Identify opportunities to connect DSP demand with advertiser, agency, and publisher priorities through coordinated go-to-market initiatives.
- Translate evolving market dynamics, including changes in buying behavior, supply access models, and platform economics, into actionable commercial strategies.
- Balance near-term revenue opportunities with investments that strengthen OpenX's long-term demand position.
- Product Strategy & Commercial Innovation
- Serve as a strategic commercial partner to Product, Engineering, and Strategy teams, identifying market needs and influencing product priorities that unlock incremental demand.
- Advance strategic partnership opportunities around emerging technologies, including containerized bidding, identity activation, curation, supply-path optimization, and next-generation programmatic infrastructure.
- Develop commercial strategies that accelerate partner adoption and monetization of differentiated OpenX capabilities.
- Translate complex technical concepts into compelling commercial value propositions for DSP executives and partners.
- Help shape how OpenX collaborates with buying platforms as the traditional DSP-SSP relationship evolves.
- Commercial Leadership & Cross-Functional Execution
- Lead the day-to-day commercial DSP partnerships business, ensuring clear priorities, disciplined execution, and accountability for measurable results.
- Partner closely with DSP Operations leadership to align commercial growth priorities with technical performance, integration health, traffic optimization, and operational scalability.
- Collaborate with Buyer Development, Publisher Development, Commercial Operations, Product, Finance, Legal, and other teams to unlock opportunities, resolve commercial barriers, and execute strategic initiatives.
- Establish clear commercial KPIs, revenue forecasts, growth plans, and pipeline visibility across the DSP portfolio.
- Provide proactive, data-driven recommendations on partnership investments, growth opportunities, competitive threats, and commercial tradeoffs.
- Represent the DSP Partnerships organization in cross-functional planning with the Global Head of DSP, communicating progress, risks, and opportunities with clarity.
- Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing DSP Partnerships team with a strong culture of commercial ownership, strategic thinking, and accountability.
- Evolve the organization from reactive relationship management toward proactive partnership development and revenue generation.
- Establish scalable processes for account segmentation, joint business planning, opportunity management, and executive engagement.
- Set clear performance expectations, develop talent, and ensure the team is focused on the highest-impact commercial opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, ad tech, or digital media, including significant experience with DSPs, SSPs, or other advertising technology platforms.
- Demonstrated track record of driving measurable revenue growth through strategic partnerships, business development, or commercial leadership.
- Experience building new commercial opportunities and expanding existing relationships beyond traditional account management.
- Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including real-time bidding, supply-path optimization, identity, auction dynamics, and DSP/SSP economics.
- Established credibility and executive-level relationships across major DSPs and the broader programmatic advertising ecosystem.
- Proven ability to develop commercial strategies, negotiate complex agreements, and independently manage a portfolio of high-value partnerships.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing commercially oriented teams with clear performance accountability.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, including revenue forecasting, partnership economics, opportunity sizing, and investment prioritization.
- Ability to navigate technical product discussions and translate complex capabilities into compelling commercial opportunities.
- Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly within a DSP, SSP, or major programmatic buying platform.
- Familiarity with emerging programmatic technologies, including containerization, identity interoperability, curation, and alternative supply access models.
- Track record of building new partnership categories, developing emerging demand channels, or commercializing technical solutions.
- Experience influencing product strategy and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams on commercially significant initiatives.
