The Sr. Director Technical Product Management works closely with development and engineering teams to ensure the product achieves the business’ desired outcomes in a way that optimally uses technology and considers the long-term sustainability of the product.

Description

Strategic leader responsible for directing technical product management and development teams in achieving company goals and objectives within the department budget. Owns the strategic direction of entire functional area and sets a multi-year strategy. Final decision-making authority on operation and management of their team. Owns the development of new processes and opportunities for cost savings and optimization of existing roadmaps. Has the ability to discuss issues with both technical and non-technical executives while working to resolve larger/long term issues. Acts as technical liaison to external teams. Partners with cross functional leaders to ensure the broader organization meets targets and IOP goals.  This role is a senior leadership position within the Technical Product Management job family, responsible for strategic direction and management of technical product management teams.

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Sr. Director of Product Management to lead the development and oversight of software solutions, supporting our field technicians and contact center agents. This role is focused on the evolution of our Salesforce and Genesys platforms with supporting applications to enable efficient operations for our frontline teams. This leader will have extensive experience delivering software in complex, scaled environments, along with a proven ability to drive product strategy and manage cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be an expert in the Salesforce product suite and will have experience supporting or running contact center and field operations.  This leader will manage a team of technical product managers and owners.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Translate business needs into the long-term technical vision and strategic roadmap for DTV360 software products, aligning with organizational goals and market demands.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams—including engineering, sales, marketing, field and customer support—to drive product initiatives from conception to market launch. Prioritize the features critical for delivery of business value and ensure they are well-specified for smooth delivery by execution teams.
  • Ensure that non-functional requirements are in place and comply with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices, particularly in compliance, security, reliability, and performance.
  • Ensure product UX/UI are consistent with internal design system guidelines and efficiently support users.
  • Facilitate and resolve schedule and budget challenges that arise as requirements change or technical roadblocks interfere with delivery. Solve problems in a way that balances time to business value, program priorities, and technical team efficiency.
  • Engage with operations teams to support recently launched functionality, coordinating defect prioritization and prioritizing product change requests. Provide technical expertise and product knowledge to Center and Field Agent support as needed.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in product management and program management within the telecommunications or software industry. Expert knowledge of Salesforce is required; experience with Genesys Cloud and Slack collaboration is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of APIs/mS, Center and Agent Tooling and processes.
  • Customer Interface Skills: Proven ability to engage effectively with customers to gather feedback, address integration needs, and ensure satisfaction with product solutions.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, empathy, and support.  Servant-Leadership style is critical.
  • Delivery Frameworks: Expertise in project management and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic, data-driven approach to decision-making. Proven experience driving business value through technology delivery.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $162,593 - $295,113

Low (N1): $162,593 - $243,789

Mid (N2): $171,150 - $256,620

High (N3): $188,265 - $282,282

Top (N4): $196,823 - $295,113
