This senior specialist implements, grows and matures DevOps practices through people, process and technology, often directly impacting global operations. This includes demonstrated implementation and understanding of complex technical practices. At this career level, the incumbent independently implements and matures major complex continuous integration, automated test driven practices, release automation, automated infrastructure self service, infrastructure as code, canary deployment methods, instrumentation and monitoring, and integrated tool chain management. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other specialists.
What will you do?

Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
Matures DevOps disciplines and champions the lean agile mindset for major initiatives regarding issues such as Test Driven Development, flow, and systems thinking.
Continually improves integration of complex infrastructure builds with application deployment processes across major projects and systems.
Troubleshoots complicated technical problems relating to information systems, providing insight and guidance to other specialists.
Analyzes, designs and evaluates large automation scripts and systems.
Researches new technologies that will be efficient, effective, and highly scalable.
Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the business analysis discipline.
What do you bring?
- Strong automation skills, eliminating manual work whenever possible, e.g. Infrastructure as code, pipelines, scripts
- Extensive experience with AWS platform in a production environment
- Understanding of AWS Cloud Operations, including security, governance, and disaster recovery models and their implementation
- History of workload migration onto AWS
- Ability to design, build, and operate workloads in Kubernetes and AWS serverless architectures
- Strong Python development skills, particularly for operational purposes, e.g. scripts & AWS Lambda Functions
- Hybrid networking and distributed computing knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting skills
- Effective cross-functional leadership skills (verbal communication skills, strong collaboration and influencing skills, empathic)
- Ability to collaborate with deployment/releasing teams on implementing best practices for operations, security & financial stewardship
- Firm understanding of Agile principles, Scrum, and/or Kanban
- Self-directed learning, continually learning and improving
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Ten years Relevant experience working in this or a related field.
