Job Summary

The Sr Consultant of the Individual and Small Group (ISG) Product Portfolio, Commercial Product Management is responsible, on behalf of the Vice President of Commercial Product Management and Innovation (CPMI), and the Director of Commercial Product Management, for the successful delivery of new products and programs via the coordinated management of multiple, complex, mandate and technology intensive cross-functional projects, their inter-dependencies, and risks, and in many cases, ongoing operations which are directed toward a common objective. This role works cross-functionally with 25+ business areas to outline strategies that enable the organization to develop and grow our product portfolio to meet the growing demands in our regional markets, remain price competitive, and continuously evolve the portfolio within the existing products. This role is responsible for helping to outline strategic direction for the product portfolio for the Individual and Small Group members and clients in all 3 regions where we serve this business. They will work closely with colleagues on the development of an annual product strategy aligned with membership, financial, and strategic goals in each region. They will also collaborate closely on the exchange and distribution strategies in each region/ market. The ISG Senior consultant will charter the product roadmap and partner with colleagues within the CPMI team to deliver those products to market. This role will engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure the overall implementation is well understood and operational readiness is achieved. This role will also set direction for members of the Commercial Product Management team, including supporting the department multi-year product roadmap as well as annual planning.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Directs and manages all phases of the project strategy and management lifecycle for the most complex, high-risk projects for the organization and often include external vendors.
  • Implements tools and methodologies for delivery teams to manage programs and projects including all aspects of the product lifecycle from feasibility to management out of the market.
  • Evaluates the cost and feasibility of multiple options/alternatives to resolve project issues and make recommendations on those issues that best meet both project and corporate objectives.
  • P and L, budgeting and financial management required to deliver aligned with the ISG line of business.
  • Organizes teams across business and technology; develop relationships and communicate with all levels from individual contributors to executive leadership, facilitate and mediate between people and teams.
  • Incorporatesing the corporate strategic direction, defines impact of tasks/events for business teams and the organization. Proactively identifyiesng conflict/integration issues, and leadsing team members to parse/synthesize issues of the highest complexity. 
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

Certification and Licensure

Education

  • Required (minimum): Bachelor’s degree in project management or related field-business administration, management, finance, or engineering.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree

Experience

  • Required (minimum): 8-10 years of progressively responsible Product Management experience. Proven ability to complete complex high risk cross functional organizational projects.
  • Preferred: 8-10 years of Health Care environment and product or program development and management

Skill Requirements

  • Ability to thrive in a matrix-management, hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach and solutions that span multiple environments in a business area. Coach/mentor project managers and effectively lead in a matrixed environment.
  • Significant initiative and autonomy, balanced with an ability to integrate information for informed action and against an understanding of proper timing and paths for escalating support requests of leadership.
  • Strong negotiating, influencing, and advocacy skills, ability to lead others both internally and externally to ensure the success of the program.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Influence project owner, sponsor, steering committee, and other appropriate senior management.
  • Effectively manage difficult group dynamics to reach a positive outcome.
  • Verbal and written skills, ability to facilitate planning and review sessions with senior management.
  • High level presentation skills, including ability to interface and communicated changes to a broad range of internal and external contacts, as necessary. Ability to interact with confidence with external and Point32Health senior management.
  • Ability to remove obstacles by anticipating the challenges ahead and prepare to take them on, set a course and overcome them.
  • Identify risk out of the larger picture and plan accordingly.
  • Identify and make decisions that serve the best interests of the organization.

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):

  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.
  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.
  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.

Salary Range

$132,377.12 -$198,565.68

Compensation & Total Rewards Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization.  The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; as well as internal equity. As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay. Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
