About the job 

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will design and transform existing code bases into high-quality, well-tested, and scalable cloud infrastructure, consisting of data logging, data pipeline, identity and access management, network architecture, monitoring, and more. You will consult with various teams, including machine learning engineers, data scientists, data engineers, clinicians, and our external customers. Additionally, you'll also guide software engineers within the company on their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) use, while ensuring they have the best experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications.

You will

  • Apply your knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure to work in a small team whose work impacts various groups of patients(users)
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
  • Set direction and goals for the team, regarding project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency
  • Lead major initiatives, projects, teams, roll-outs, and phased-releases
  • Be familiar with standard software engineering methodology (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, interacting and communicating effectively with team members
  • Have a strong sense of ownership and curiosity to explore other aspects that may go beyond your area of expertise

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or a related field
  • 3+ years relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience
  • Experience with improving stability through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
  • Experience in at least one general purpose programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C/C++, JavaScript)
  • Solid data structures, algorithms and software design
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure


Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in CS or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in cloud computing
  • Experience with hands-on technical leadership, leading project teams, and setting technical direction
  • Experience with architecting cloud infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with managing and completing internal or client-facing projects
  • Experience with architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
  • Experience with shipping products in a dynamic and agile early stage startup environment
