The Job:   

As a Sr. Automation Controls Engineer, you’ll be part of our Hand Tools & Storage team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to: 

  • Work on systems ranging from but not limited to – Various welding, machining, robotic automation, painting, heat treating, punch press and packaging equipment.  Our team is consistently tasked with developing new and innovative technology and processes for our manufacturing and R&D testing lab.  
  • Controls system key components - Fanuc robots, servo motion controls, Allen Bradley PLC, HMI interfaces, vision applications, specialized testing equipment.
  • Design, build, program, and install newly developed production related machinery
  • Develop project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, safety standards, and motor controls
  • Provide cost estimates and timelines for projects
  • Follow designs from concept to production
  • Research / Implement - advanced manufacturing ideas and concepts
  • Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements
  • Update machine controls to newer hardware platforms

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field
  • Extremely proficient with Allen Bradley PLC programming
  • Proficient with VFD and Servo controls
  • Experience with HMI Programming, ProFace preferred
  • Experience with creating electrical drawings, AutoCad Electrical preferred
  • Fanuc Power Motion and Roboguide experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
