  • Identify and remediate coverage gaps, misconfigurations, and platform health issues.

Change, Upgrades & Integration

  • Plan and implement changes and upgrades with testing and rollback plans, in line with change management.

  • Keep mobile notifications enabled and monitor designated incident communication channels (phone, text, email, collaboration, and paging tools) after hours so that material incident notifications are received and acknowledged promptly.
  • Support containment, investigation, remediation, recovery, and post-incident activities as directed by incident leadership for the duration of the incident, which may include extended, overnight, or weekend hours.
  • Maintain current emergency contact details with the Cyber Team and notify management in advance of planned unavailability (such as travel or leave) so that coverage can be arranged.
  • These expectations apply regardless of the employee's home location or time zone.
  • Serve in the on-call rotation for security platforms and execute emergency changes requested by Incident Response, such as isolation, blocking, and policy updates.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years' experience in security engineering, systems administration, or network administration.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
