The primary purpose of this position is to determine strategic product alignment strategies within our largest nationally managed customers. The strategies are led by USF Exclusive Brand products, but can also involve financially optimal alternatives.New Ways of Work: This position has been segmented as hybrid meaning the work is a combination of 3 days onsite In Rosemont, IL (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remotely (Monday and Friday) as defined by the role segmentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within national accounts sales to understand customer needs, constraints and determine strategy. Typically includes product matching, pricing determination, financial impact measurement, and stocking/supply assessment.
- Work with Category Management to determine USF’s position related to: cost competitiveness, product breadth and stocking position.
- Interact with all necessary resources to properly complete all requirements relating to the proposal, including the Category Strategy team to ensure proposals make sense within the overall product strategy.
- Manage end to end the process of creating, documenting and submitting national account proposals.
- Train and assist in the development of (new) team members.
- Lead or participate in the presentation of proposals to senior management for approval of strategy, pricing, offerings, etc.
- Negotiate vendor support for USF product alignment opportunities, leverage knowledge of the vendor community and programs.
- Participate in the implementation of successful new programs (coordination of stocking, etc).
- Manage the agreement renewal process, i.e. documentation and tracking of related contract details, including funding, monthly pricing to customers, etc.
- Audit national customer programs to ensure accuracy and proper implementation of strategy, and determine solutions to resolve as necessary.
- Inform Category Management and National Sales in the wake of failed bids to fix product voids, packaging inadequacy and net cost disadvantages.
- Maintain detailed history of proposal analyses and projected impact; insure data is available internally for overall tracking, renewal analyses and future options.
- Research large financial exposure scenarios to determine drivers, and resolution options.

Internal: Category Management, National Sales, Field Staff, Finance & Revenue Management, Logistics, Replenishment, Research & Development, Regulatory & Quality Assurance, ATC, and Marketing
External: Vendors, Customers, Consultants and Contractors
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business management or other relevant field preferred.
Related Experience: 5+ years related experience in economics, analytics, supply chain or related field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills, report generation and analytics, negotiating, and the ability to think critically.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
