About the Role: 

The Sr. Accounting Transformation Lead is responsible for supporting the SVP, Global Controller to advance the maturity, scalability, and effectiveness of the company's accounting operating model. This role will partner closely with the global leadership team to identify, prioritize, plan and execute accounting transformational initiatives that support the company's growth and long-term strategic objectives.

With the Global Controller, this leader will co-develop and drive accounting transformation spanning organizational design, process standardization, technology enablement, public-company readiness. The successful candidate will combine proven experience in accounting and strategy development, change management, operational excellence.  Sr. Accounting Transformation Lead should have exceptional project management skills along with exceptional communication experience and demonstrated success with delivering excellence for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

    Accounting Transformation Strategy

  • Assess current-state capabilities across people, processes, technology, data, governance, and controls and identify opportunities to strengthen the accounting operating model.

  • Translate strategic priorities into project plans with measurable objectives, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, and expected business outcomes.

  • Process Excellence & Global Standardization

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, harmonize, automate, and strengthen core accounting processes, including record-to-report, financial close, reconciliations, consolidation, intercompany accounting, financial reporting, and other controllership activities.

  • Manage the development of clearly defined roles, responsibilities, policies, procedures, and performance expectations.

  • Partner with accounting leaders to reduce manual processes, eliminate unnecessary complexity, improve close efficiency, and strengthen the quality and timeliness of financial information.

  • Technology Automation

  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, artificial intelligence, workflow solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, controls, and decision-making.

  • Partner with Technology and business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize investments, and ensure successful design and implementation of finance technology solutions.

  • Promote simplification and standardization of systems and data while reducing reliance on fragmented tools and manual processes.

  • Public Company Readiness

  • Project manage the critical accounting readiness activities associated with SEC-compliant financial reporting, disclosure processes, close and reporting timelines, supporting documentation, and reporting governance.

  • Identify and assist in resolving gaps that could impact IPO timing or sustainable public-company operations.

  • Change Leadership

  • Provide clear, concise reporting to senior leadership regarding transformation priorities, progress, risks, decisions, and resource requirements.

  • Lead change-management efforts necessary to drive adoption of new processes, technologies, organizational structures, and ways of working.

  • Build strong relationships across functions and geographies and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Promote continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence across the global Accounting organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.

  • Approximately 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, finance transformation, with significant leadership experience in complex, high-growth organizations.

  • Experience leading large-scale Finance or Accounting transformation initiatives involving multiple functions, geographies, systems, and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience redesigning and standardizing accounting processes and operating models.

  • Strong understanding of finance technology ecosystems, including ERP, consolidation, financial reporting, close management, reconciliation, workflow, automation, and data/analytics solutions.

  • Prior experience in public accounting and/or a large, complex multinational organization is a plus.
