The Accounting Intern will assist the Global AR team with month-end accounting, AR aging reports, deduction processing, and account reconciliation while collaborating with various departments.
Introduction
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our finance team and work directly with our Global AR team. This internship provides hands-on experience in month-end accounting, deduction processing, and AR aging reports. You will work closely with experienced professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective management of AR deductions, and resolution of aging account discrepancies.Intern must be able to commit to a full time (40 hours) Monday-Friday internship starting in April through end of August with potential to go through EOY.
What You Will Do:
- Month-End Accounting Support: Assist in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling AR accounts, and ensuring all AR transactions are accurately recorded.
- AR Aging Cleanup: Support the cleanup of AR aging reports, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accurate classification of overdue accounts.
- Deduction Processing: Assist in processing AR deductions, reviewing supporting documentation, and working with the AR team to resolve any deduction-related issues.
- Account Reconciliation: Help reconcile accounts receivable balances, including customer deductions, write-offs, and adjustments.
- Collaboration: Work with the Global AR team and other departments to resolve issues with deductions, billing discrepancies, and overdue accounts.
- Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports related to AR aging and deductions for management review.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Assist with various ad-hoc accounting and AR-related projects as needed, including data analysis and reporting.
To Be Successful You Will Have:
- Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting, finance or related field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong excel skills and basic understanding of the Microsoft Suite products (Word, PPT, SharePoint).
- Strong work ethic: Ability to work full time (40 hours/week) during the internship period (July-December)
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the global AR team and other departments.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and interest in accounts receivable and month-end close processes.
