About Us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Release of Information (ROI) Specialist who is passionate about improving the landscape for mental healthcare. You will be responsible for responding to all types of ROI requests, ranging in scope and scale, to support the needs of our clients, payors, and other requesters. You’ll be joining our remote-friendly team of ROI Specialists reporting directly to the ROI Operations Manager, and will help us continue to build out the health information vertical of Grow Therapy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Process, log, and respond to inbound medical record requests from clients, insurance companies, attorneys, and other valid requesters within required timeframes
  • Review and validate request documents, authorizations, subpoenas, and records for production to ensure that all releases are accurate, complete, and in compliance with federal and state regulations, HIPAA, and other relevant privacy laws governing the release of mental health information
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard all patient information in accordance with privacy regulations and company policy
  • Communicate with clients, Grow providers, and other requesters to clarify or obtain additional information, assist with their records needs, and provide status updates
  • Collaborate with teammates on special projects including broader chart audits, and serve as a resource to other Grow teams with ROI or records questions

You’ll Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Have 2+ years experience in Release of Information or medical records management - health information management education and/or credentials are a plus
  • Are tech savvy, adept at navigating EMRs and other systems, tools, and ticketing software to track work and communicate with teammates and customers
  • Are a team player, adaptable, collaborative by nature, and keen to cultivate positive customer experiences
  • Have great attention to detail and an eye for process improvement
  • Experience in mental/behavioral health and/or tech is a plus (but not required)

Base Compensation: The base compensation range for this position is

  • Hybrid Commitment: $30.00 - $33.17 USD per hour
  • Fully Remote Commitment: $25.00 - $27.64 USD per hour

This role can be hybrid (onsite from our NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle hub location three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) or fully remote. Both arrangements include travel 2–3 times per year (e.g., company and department offsites).
The base compensation for this role will vary depending on several factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, and the candidate’s working location.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and disability coverage.
  • Parental Leave & Family Support: Up to 18 weeks paid leave and a new child stipend.
  • Financial Wellness: 401(k) program and equity opportunities.

  • Extra Perks: Pet insurance discounts, commuter benefits, and global travel assistance.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
