Job Description:

THE ROLE

Our site in Billerica, MA or Aurora, IL or Chaska, MN is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist with expertise in statistics, knowledge graphs, machine learning and generative AI. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quantitative analysis, experience with complex data structures, and is well-versed in designing and implementing AI models using Knowledge Graphs. You will play a pivotal role in building and deploying sophisticated data models, extracting insights, and developing scalable AI solutions for our product lines. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Statistical Analysis and Data Modeling 

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and build statistical models to understand complex data patterns and drive strategic decisions. 

  • Design and implement statistical experiments to validate hypotheses and measure outcomes, with a focus on scalability and reproducibility. 

  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques, including Bayesian methods, time series analysis, and predictive modeling. 

  • Develop and maintain interactive analytical tools and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making. 

  • Knowledge Graph Development 

  • Develop and maintain large-scale knowledge graphs to represent relationships across complex datasets. 

  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to create interconnected knowledge representations. 

  • Implement graph-based algorithms to derive insights, improve recommendation systems, and enhance search capabilities. 

  • Ensure knowledge graph scalability, accuracy, and performance for end-user applications. 

  • Generative AI and Machine Learning 

  • Design, train, and fine-tune generative AI models, such as language models (e.g., GPT, BERT), to generate new content and enhance data insights. 

  • Work with large-scale datasets to create innovative solutions and deploy machine learning models that solve real-world business problems. 

  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate generative AI solutions into existing applications, ensuring seamless user experiences. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication 

  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, R&D scientists and data engineers to understand business requirements and translate them to successful model deployment. 

  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Document methodologies, workflows, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and training within the team. 

WHAT WE SEEK

  • Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. 

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on statistical modeling, knowledge graphs, and/or generative AI applications. 

  • Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar programming language for data analysis. 

  • Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, ArangoDB) and graph algorithms. 

  • Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and generative AI models. 

  • Experience managing workloads in cloud analytic environments (e.g. GCP/AWS/Azure) 

  • Strong foundation in statistical techniques, data structures, and algorithmic thinking. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. 

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

OUTSTANDING CANDIDATES WILL HAVE: 

  • Experience with large language models and/or transformers. 

  • Familiarity with knowledge representation and semantic web technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL). 

  • Proficiency with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Compensation: $80,000 - $115,000/ year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
