About the PositionThe Solutions Engineer III responds to the customer RFP (Request for Proposal) with an effective logistics solution by drawing upon data analytics, industrial engineering, design engineering, an understanding of IT WMS (Warehouse Management System) functionality, knowledge of Operations, and the ability to present/correspond directly to the Customer effectively and succinctly.
Functions- Select the best methods to store the customers product safely and efficiently
- Estimate the square feet needed for real estate to start a search for a building with the correct ceiling height.
- Industrial Engineering: process mapping, value stream mapping, process design, space planning and layout design (using CAD), index and scope creep measurement, and inventory & slotting assessments.
- Create warehousing workflows and process on how to receive, pick, pack and ship customer goods based on the requirements
- Build labor standards and align IT WMS to support warehousing workflows and processes
- Select the appropriate material handling equipment to work with the solution
- Based on solutions selected, price the solution in the pro forma. Utilize Kenco Pricing model to process data, and coordinate with Real Estate, IT and HR for additional pricing data.
- Understand cost structures (Cost +, FVR [Fixed-Variable-Reimbursable], Unit Rates), Operations (shift structures, seasonality, direct vs. indirect ratio, staffing and training, etc.), and basic financial concepts and company thresholds.
- Apply labor rates of job classes to the hours from the processes and the rates for the management team and coordinators/clerks that support the direct labor
- Acquire costs for the storage equipment, forklifts, IT hardware, building improvements, etc.
- Adjust the pricing to the customer template. Obtain client profile data from sales department.
- Support the sales team with a description of the process, innovations used in the solution, and continual revisions.
- Present pricing proposals to internal and external customers. Present pricing information clients in a way that commands their confidence.
- Visit customer sites for gathering information with discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to assess the effectiveness of processes already in place

- Report billable hours to appropriate accounts in a timely manner

- Material Handling Equipment (MHE): All types of MHE.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS): Korber, Blue Yonder, Veracore (Omni Channel warehousing or E-Commerce)
- Training Others: Model, Pricing, Multiple Scenarios, Multiple MHE, WMS Features
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from a four-year college or university
- 5-8 years of experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MS Project experience.
- CAD

- This position is expected to travel approximately 25% - 50%.
