We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of an Energy Engineer. In this position, the successful candidate will lead the development of tailored HVAC and Refrigeration energy solutions, oversee project execution, and ensure compliance with industry standards and utility incentives.

As a key member of the Engineering Solutions team, your advanced technical expertise and leadership will drive the development, validation, and optimization of cutting-edge energy solutions. You will directly contribute to carbon reduction and cost savings for our customers while advancing the company’s energy efficiency initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Lead research and evaluation of emerging third-party energy efficiency solutions for regional customer locations.
• Develop and optimize HVAC, refrigeration, and building energy efficiency strategies to maximize operational efficiency.
• Conduct and oversee site assessments to evaluate conditions for implementing new energy-saving pilot projects.
• Design and implement scalable energy solutions tailored to customer needs while ensuring compliance with incentive programs.
• Develop and refine engineering calculation tools for evaluating performance and securing utility incentives.
• Identify, test, and recommend energy-saving technologies, ensuring integration into existing building systems.
• Provide technical guidance on energy-related design, audits, and construction issues to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyze pre- and post-installation energy consumption using EM&V methodologies to validate energy savings.
• Document findings and best practices from energy efficiency projects to enhance future project success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, implementation, and operations, to align engineering efforts with company goals.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• BS or MS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering fields.
• 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency, HVAC system design, or related fields.
• HVAC experience is a must, with strong expertise in HVAC/R technology, including RTUs, Kitchen Exhaust Systems, and other high-efficiency solutions.
• VRF Heat Pump Systems experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, International Mechanical Code, and relevant energy regulations.
• Experience designing and implementing energy conservation measures (ECMs) in commercial buildings.
• Ability to develop custom energy models and tools for savings calculations and incentive applications.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in energy data analysis and verification methodologies.
• Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office, with the ability to learn and utilize energy modeling software.
• Professional certifications such as CEM, LEED AP, or PE license are a plus.
• Travel to sites would be around 20%.
Location: Remote
Compensation
$100,000—$110,000 USD
Compensation is based on factors including level of experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
