Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) is seeking a Software Solution Architect. This role supports the design and delivery of integrated software solutions across SES’s aviation and ports & borders portfolios. The focus is on expanding, configuring and applying existing enterprise software products—such as Mezzo—to address specific customer needs and better position SES to capture new business opportunities.
This position will report to the Commercial Operations Director and play a key role in ensuring our software solutions are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with product and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Architect solutions using SES enterprise software platforms (e.g., Mezzo), ensuring alignment with technical and operational requirements.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and commercial operations teams to develop clear, well-scoped solution definitions.
- Create architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and solution documentation to guide implementation.
- Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) including resource planning and technical scope definitions (preferred).
- Contribute to Technical Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Bid Risk Reviews (BRRs) for high-value opportunities.
- Partner with product line managers and engineering to ensure technical feasibility and consistency with platform capabilities.
- Ensure solutions adhere to Leidos SES standards for security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or technical solution architecture.
- Proven experience with enterprise software platforms and systems integration.
- Strong skills in creating architecture documentation, technical specifications, and implementation guidance.
- Ability to develop detailed BOEs and resource plans for the development, implementation and ongoing systems support of enterprise software.
- Familiarity developing and deploying solutions in a cloud environment.
- Experience with software solution design and implementation plans that include AI/ML- capability.
- Experience with enterprise data modeling and metadata governance frameworks.
- Comfortable leading solution design sessions and ensuring alignment with engineering capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience working directly with customers or supporting capture teams in shaping technical solutions.
- Background in pricing strategy or cost estimation, including BOEs.
- Familiarity with Leidos SES products (e.g., Mezzo) or experience in aviation/port security markets.
- Exposure to Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Technical certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF).
- Experience working within cloud-based environments, particularly AWS.
