What We Need

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Generative AI (GenAI) Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and enterprise-wide rollout of GenAI solutions within our organization. This pivotal role will be responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable, secure, and compliant GenAI architectures, with a strong focus on healthcare-specific applications and data. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in GenAI technologies, cloud platforms, data governance, and the unique regulatory landscape of the healthcare industry.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • GenAI Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute the enterprise-wide GenAI architecture strategy and roadmap, aligning with the organization's strategic goals and healthcare industry trends.
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the end-to-end architectural design of GenAI solutions, encompassing data pipelines, model training, fine-tuning, deployment, integration with existing systems (EHR/EMR, clinical systems), and monitoring strategies.
  • Technology Evaluation & Selection: Evaluate and recommend appropriate GenAI models (LLMs, Diffusion Models, etc.), frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain), and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) based on specific healthcare use cases and organizational standards.
  • Healthcare Domain Expertise: Apply deep understanding of healthcare workflows, data standards (HL7, FHIR), clinical terminology, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) to ensure compliant and effective GenAI solutions.
  • Data Management & Governance: Design robust data architectures for GenAI, focusing on data quality, privacy, security, and ethical use of sensitive healthcare data. Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce policies.
  • MLOps & Deployment: Define and implement MLOps best practices for GenAI models, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, performance monitoring, and scalable inference environments.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, machine learning engineers, software engineers, and compliance teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure successful adoption.
  • Prototyping & Proof-of-Concept (POC): Lead the development of prototypes and POCs to validate technical feasibility and demonstrate the value of proposed GenAI solutions.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and thought leadership to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning in GenAI.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks associated with GenAI deployment in healthcare, including bias, transparency, explainability, and adherence to ethical AI principles.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of GenAI architectures, design decisions, and implementation details.

What We're Looking For

  • Deep GenAI Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of various GenAI model architectures (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs), Transformers, GANs, VAEs, Diffusion Models).
  • Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architectures, and agent frameworks.
  • Familiarity with open-source and commercial GenAI APIs and platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, Google AI, Azure OpenAI Service, AWS Bedrock).
  • Programming Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Python, with experience in relevant libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, LangChain, LlamaIndex).
  • Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience designing and deploying solutions on at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including their AI/ML services.
  • Data Engineering & MLOps:
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing/data lake concepts.
  • Experience with MLOps tools and practices for model lifecycle management, monitoring, and deployment (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker, Azure ML).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • API Design & Integration: Experience designing and implementing robust APIs for GenAI service integration with enterprise systems.
  • Database Technologies: Familiarity with various database types (relational, NoSQL, vector databases) relevant to GenAI applications.
  • Healthcare-Specific Skills:
  • Healthcare Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare data, workflows, clinical processes, and industry challenges.
  • Healthcare Interoperability Standards: Proficient in healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, and other relevant privacy and security frameworks.
  • AI Ethics in Healthcare: Knowledge of ethical considerations and best practices for responsible AI development and deployment in a healthcare context, including bias detection and mitigation.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business challenges into innovative GenAI solutions and define long-term architectural vision.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Communication & Presentation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Collaboration & Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to influence, guide, and mentor technical teams.
  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Passion for staying current with the rapidly evolving GenAI landscape and emerging technologies, with a commitment to continuous learning.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a minimum of [5] years focused on AI/ML, and at least [3] years specifically with Generative AI.
  • Proven experience in leading the design and implementation of enterprise-scale AI solutions, preferably within a healthcare or other highly regulated industry.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) or AI/ML-specific certifications are a plus.
