About the Role:

Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Solution Architect to join our Information Technology team.

In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders and delivery teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that align with enterprise architecture principles. Serving as a bridge between business and technology, you will translate business needs into technical designs, evaluate solution options, and contribute to high-impact enterprise initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, solutions-oriented architect who enjoys working across diverse business and technology domains. Working under the guidance of a Senior Solution Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate design discussions, develop architecture artifacts, and help drive solutions from concept through implementation. Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required to support collaboration with stakeholders across multiple regions.

Essential Functions:

  • Produce clear architecture artifacts, including but not limited to context diagrams, logical and physical architecture diagrams, and integration/data flow diagrams
  • Apply structured system design practices, including domain decomposition and integration pattern selection
  • Design solutions with consideration for non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, resiliency, and security
  • Evaluate solution alternatives using data-driven analysis (cost, performance, complexity, and risk)
  • Document architecture decisions and supporting rationale
  • Incorporate feedback from the Senior Solution Architect through design reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture strategy and standards

Solution Enablement & Delivery Support

  • Guide engineering teams in interpreting and implementing solution designs
  • Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies, design reviews, and architecture governance checkpoints, as needed
  • Ensure alignment with architecture standards, integration patterns, and security requirements
  • Provide clarifications and evolve designs as requirements or constraints change
  • Work independently on moderately complex initiatives while seeking guidance on high-impact or cross-domain design decisions
  • Collaborate with the Senior Solution Architect to validate designs and address implementation challenges

Risk, Quality & Performance Management

  • Identify and assess risks related to scalability, resiliency, security, and operational performance
  • Recommend mitigation strategies and design improvements
  • Define and validate non-functional requirements (e.g., SLAs, performance thresholds)
  • Review solution health and identify opportunities for optimization and stabilization
  • Escalate high-risk architectural concerns to the Senior Solution Architect for guidance and alignment
  • Participate in maintaining architecture assets and supporting governance processes, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and policies within the Ardoq platform

Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing

  • Continuously develop knowledge of architecture patterns, technologies, and industry best practices
  • Contribute to architecture knowledge sharing through documentation, design reviews, and team collaboration sessions
  • Apply feedback and mentorship from the Senior Solution Architect to strengthen architecture and communication skills
  • Stay informed of emerging trends and evaluate their applicability to business needs
  • Support team members in understanding architecture practices and standards

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with 6+ years of experience in software engineering, solution design, or related technical roles (an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)
