Hourly Pay Rate: $21.00 (Undergraduate Student) $26.50 (Graduate Student)

Summary:

The Retail Planning team is looking for an aspiring Software Engineering Intern who is eager to join a fast paced company. Are you a tech-savvy student with exposure to object-oriented programming (OOP) and a strong interest in Java? Do you also have a fascination with Azure cloud installations and cloud computing? Blue Yonder is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team in Dallas, TX. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that leverage your OOP skills, Java experience, and cloud expertise. Join us in our mission to reshape supply chain management with cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. Your skills and passion can make a significant impact!

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with experienced team members to contribute to software development projects.
  • Apply your analytical skills in arriving at key performance indicators
  • Explore the usability and impact of a particular software tool replacement
  • Supports senior team members in designing, developing and testing software applications.

  • Research and contribute to quick proof of concepts

  • Learns how to improve readability and maintainability of code.

  • Participates in code reviews.

  • Participates in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.

    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

What we are looking for:

  • Applicant must be local to the Dallas area
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Understands basic functional and technical requirements of software components.
  • Demonstrates problem solving and innovation ability.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Python/NodeJS/Java
  • Expertise in working with SQL and database technologies-Snowflake
  • Familiarity with Cloud Platforms like Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms.
  • Experience with other technologies such as Apache Kafka 
  • Passion for CI/CD, DevOps
  • Interest in software craftmanship and passion for modern methods such as Kanban, Scrum, TDD and pair programming
  • Cloud Platform certifications
