Role Description: Software Engineering Co-op - Infrastructure/Automation

Role Purpose:

Wasabi Tech is currently seeking co-op candidates between the periods of May through November (6 months total) to join our Infrastructure team this year. This position is an individual contributor role. Ideal candidates are majoring in computer engineering, computer science with strong OOD, OOP and understanding of programming. You will use your software design and development knowledge to help a team dedicated to supporting highly reliable, secure, scalable, and innovative applications for Wasabi's hot cloud storage service. You should have expertise in agile software development, collaborate with team members, and be a pragmatic problem-solver. You should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, effectively connect with other engineering teams, and have a solid foundation in software design.

Requirements:

  • A current Master's student, working towards a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Able to work full-time during the time of the co-op.
  • Located within the Eastern timezone, preferably in the Massachusetts area.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and containerization.
  • Understanding of basic system administration (Linux/Unix), version control (Git), Jira and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Exposure to tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or Terraform is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic issues in development or deployment pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work under general supervision and follow established engineering processes and best practices
