About the Role:

We are hiring for multiple roles in all areas of our platform and across the entire tech stack, from foundational infrastructure up to the user interface and everything in between. This is an exciting time for Compass as we continue expanding the end-to-end platform that will power real estate. As an engineer at Compass, you will have abundant opportunities to make tangible impacts, grow your career, and play a pivotal role in creating game-changing products using cutting-edge technology. 

We are looking for developers in the early stages of their engineering career who are enthusiastic about solving technical problems, learning about new and existing cloud-based services, and honing their skills as an engineer in the AI-driven era of technology. You should have a strong sense of ownership for your work, with a passion for learning and sharing your knowledge with others.

  • This role requires in-office presence in Boston 3-4 days per week. 
  • Candidates must be available to begin full time no later than January, 2026 and interview locally in our Boston office.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. At this time, we are unable to provide visa application sponsorship for this position.

At Compass, You Will:

  • Work with Senior Engineers to build, develop, and scale the variety of services that power our products.
  • Utilize AI-driven development tools and practices.
  • Operate in a scalable engineering culture that leverages modern principles of decoupled systems and automated CI/CD/testing/monitoring to drive efficiencies.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and adjacent Engineering teams to deliver business critical features to our customers.
  • Become a domain expert in real estate technology, with a deep understanding of our customers.

What We Look For:

  • BA/BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Software engineering experience of 1-2 year (relevant internship experience included)
  • Experience programming in JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, or Go for Web roles. Experience with Kotlin or Swift for Mobile roles.
  • Experience with AI development tools such as Github Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor is a plus.
  • Experience working on public cloud platforms – AWS in particular – is a plus.
  • Experience with one or more of these technologies is a plus: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kubernetes, S3, Redis, Lambda, Kafka, and Databricks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $95K - $105K salary; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
